Lurk is a podcast about the eerie and paranormal. Host Jamie Jackson is an amateur paranormal investigator. Across 30 years, her research has taken her to many haunted locations around the US.
In some Lurk episodes, Jackson brings listeners to some legendary haunted places. She goes to Sharpsburg, Maryland, to visit the ghosts of the Antietam National Battlefield. It is the site of the bloodiest event in American history, with over 3,500 killed there during the Civil War. Visitors might hear footsteps on the stairs of the two houses that stand on the battlefield. Others claim to see a specter of a woman searching for her dead husband. Another episode is about the close encounter in Presque Isle, Pennsylvania. In 1966, four people enjoying a picnic witnessed a UFO landing. After they reported it, investigators found large prints in the sand in the same area.
Other episodes of Lurk are about lesser-known phenomena. In 2018, Danny Fillippidis was skiing in Lake Placid, New York. While there, he disappeared. Six days later, Fillippidis turned up at a California airport. He had suffered head trauma during his absence but was otherwise unhurt. In one episode, Jackson explains what foo fighters are, which is a term from World War II. It was when soldiers would witness unidentified objects in the sky during battle.
Listeners may appreciate Jackson's updates about her haunted house. Built in the 1880s, she and her family share it with several other beings. In one episode, she reports that her son could hear people walking around the house. According to him, they were moving between the kitchen and the dining room and sometimes going into the hallway. Someone rushed to the house but found the door locked and no one there. At other times, the ghosts turned appliances on and then off.
Lurk may be an excellent choice for people who love paranormal tales. Jackson's expertise on the topic is impressive. New podcast episodes usually arrive weekly.
