Triathlon is a lifestyle, and we are here to help you tri until you die! While we are here for beginners, we believe you should always come to the sport with a beginner’s mindset. This will help athletes of all abilities and experiences so we can learn, grow, and constantly get better. It's getting hot here; Haley Chura must be in this episode! Haley had a great start to the year by participating in the RunDisney Dopey Challenge, where she won three out of four races and set a personal record in the marathon, bringing the heat. Later, she was given an incredible opportunity to be a wild card entry in the inaugural race of the T100 series, held in Miami. She's definitely on fire!   Haley is a professional triathlete, multisport coach, and podcaster. She co-hosts the Ironwomen Podcast by Fiesty Media. She has had an incredible career, from NCAA Championships to Ironman World Championships.   Haley has held her professional triathlon card since 2013 while simultaneously Coaching. Through mentorship and her racing achievements, Haley's coaching career blossomed alongside her professional racing endeavors, providing her with stability and fulfillment. Born To Be Champions with Karen and Donna Smyers
Sisters. Champions. Hall of Famers. Karen and Donna Smyers have made triathlon history again and again, and we are excited to welcome them to TBL!     Karen Smyers, a professional triathlete for 26 years, has won the Ironman World Championship four times, as well as several other championship titles, including ITU, National Pro Champ, and Pan American Championships. Donna Smyers, currently the Super Sprint World Champion, set the IM Lake Placid Bike Course Record in 2000, was the USAT Triathlon Olympic Age Group National Champion 5 x and USA Triathlon Sprint  Age Group National Champion in 2023, and won the IM World Champion Age Group 1st place in Kona, among other achievements.   It's clear that they were born to be champions! They began their triathlon journeys in the 1980s and witnessed many changes in the sport, from gear to nutrition. However, one thing remains the same: we still have the opportunity to tri.    The Smyer sisters are the only siblings inducted into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. Karen won championships as a professional, and Donna as an Age Grouper. This episode is a must-listen, and we are honored to have them join us! At TBL, we are all about the first-time finish line! And this week, we talk with beginner  Kelly Ransier, who is ready to share her remarkable journey from being a novice in running and cycling to becoming a successful triathlete. Her story comes from Charleston, where she first stepped into the world of triathlons with her aunt by her side.   Community has been vital for Kelly, who found the Power Zone Pack Peloton Group to guide her cycling during the pandemic.  This crew was a driving force and helped her achieve her goals. Today, Kelly calls on her tri crew, the Mid Maryland Triathlon Team.  Here, she finds the support she needs in their new triathlete program.     Kelly’s goal for this year is to conquer an Olympic distance, but she will first participate in her second sprint triathlon. She has encouraged her husband to join in his first triathlon, too. We know the couple that tris together gets it done together!
