Part 1 We Are Family As 2024 comes to a close we thought with our last 2 podcasts of the year it would be appropriate to acknowledge and honor not just our blood relatives or even our close friends, but rather the people we spend the great majority of our day with; the people that we stand shoulder to shoulder with in the pursuit to care for and cure our amazing Survivor/Thrivers! And what’s Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza without a few medical miracles to share and celebrate to give hope when there is none and to inspire when we are deflated. It's Only 2 More Days: What's The Big Deal? This week Angel and Dr E pull the curtain back once again to give our Survivor/Thrivers a "behind the scenes" glimpse of what goes on inside the black box of treatment preparation. Between all the intricate complexities and nuances of each case; the horrors of insurance authorization, and finally the prospective presentation to a multidisciplinary Tumor Board which gives the treatment consensus; it is understandable that the plan that we describe to a patient at the time of consultation is rarely the plan the patient will receive.
