E50 Oxford High Pt 1
Oxford High School endured a horrific tragedy in November 2021. While we don’t want to gloss over that event, it’s not the focus of this episode. Four kids lost their lives. Several others were injured. In the aftermath, the State of Michigan criminally charged James and Jennifer Crumbley with involuntary manslaughter for their son’s actions that took the lives of four of his classmates. This is the first time (that we’re aware of) that a criminal prosecution like this has occurred in the United States.  In this episode we provide some background and context about the underlying circumstances and then discuss the Crumbley trials. Why did the State decide to charge these parents? We’ll unpack the details but leave it up to you to decide whether parents like the Crumbleys should face criminal consequences.    If you listened to this episode, thanks for joining us on the Brothers in Crime podcast! E48 Marlene Warren
Marlene Warren was a loving mother, faithful wife, and successful businesswoman. But, during Memorial Day Weekend of 1990, a killer clown would rob the world of the gift that Marlene had been to so many. Marlene had loved clowns since she was a young girl, so it was that much more suspicious when somebody in a clown costume killed her. Nonetheless, it took police decades to make an arrest in this case. And even after that, there are still plenty of questions about this case.   If you listened to this episode, thanks for joining us on the Brothers in Crime podcast! E47 John Dick
For our first ever international case, we discussed a shocking crime that completely rocked our neighbors to the north. In a response to one of our posts on social media, a listener (shoutout Taffi) asked us to discuss this case. The murder of John Dick is also referred to as the “torso murder.” One of Canada’s most infamous crimes of all time gave us plenty to discuss, including a twist that John wasn’t the only victim. The crimes are horrific, and if you’re like us, the ending will leave you outraged.       If you listened to this episode, thanks for joining us on the Brothers in Crime podcast! E38 Courtney & Christine - Pt 1
In this episode we talk about two separate, but eerily similar, cases out of Noxubee County, Mississippi. These cases involve the abductions, sexual assaults, and murders of two young girls.
