I've had a weird ride mentally and emotionally since the Marshall fire at the end of 2021 (my house burned down). For whatever reason, (probably cause my house burned down) that event left me with a darker outlook on life for a bit, correlating with me being more closed off, selfish and cynical than ever before. After a while living like that, you realize that it's not helping you or anyone else. So I had to make some big lifestyle changes; cutting out nearly all my vices, exercising, waking up earlier than ever, journaling and loosening the reins from the tyrant in my mind... all these changes took some time, didn't happen linearly and I had many setbacks and false starts. The result, though, is that a small bloom is appearing on the withered vines of Artsy AF.
