Our Editor's Take

NPR has always been at the forefront when it comes to breaking the latest news and current affairs to the nation. Now, the Consider This podcast from NPR is taking a close look at the topics that capture the moment on a daily basis. Whether the subject is civil rights movements or economic impasses, NPR's hosts keep listeners informed.

A rotating roster of expert journalists presents the crisp, informative, and digestible segments. Juana Summers, Mary Louise Kelly, and others distill each topic down to its essence. And they're not afraid to call in support to get the best angle. Andrew Weissmann, a former federal prosecutor, appears on the show. He enlightens listeners about the proceedings surrounding the 2021 Capitol attack.

The podcast began as the Coronavirus Live series in March 2020. Covering daily pandemic updates, it became one of NPR's fastest-growing productions. In June 2020, the network relaunched the show as Consider This from NPR. The move allowed the format to be more agile and cover more topics that moved the country at the time. Topics include uprisings, economic crises, and the 2020 presidential election.
