Listeners who live in the greater Boston area are more than likely familiar with the antics of Toucher & Rich. For over a decade, the two have been combining sports commentary and comedy into a unique package. This syndicated radio show is also available to listeners as a podcast. It splits the show into segments for each hour of The Sports Hub's daily radio broadcast.

There are two hosts on the Toucher & Rich podcast. Fred Toucher began his career working in country radio in Atlanta. He then started working at 99X, leading to him becoming a morning show host. He relocated to Boston in the mid-2000s.

Rich Shertenlieb was a vocalist for a hardcore metal band. For several years, the band was a successful touring act around the US. He would then join the staff at 99X, where he would meet Toucher for the first time. The two formed a fast friendship and began hosting their morning show together.

Toucher & Rich have been making New Englanders laugh since the show began in 2006. It began as more of an open-ended talk show with many comedy bits that have since become fan favorites. In 2009, the show changed into a sports talk show, a format it has kept ever since. It was their station's choice, not their own, to switch formats. Fred Toucher didn't even root for Boston teams-he was a Jets fan! But they gave it a try and are still going strong.

The comedy from the original program is still very much intact. The podcast hosts' sense of humor is why the show has lasted as long as it has. It even beat out WEEI's top-rated Dennis & Callahan within just two years of Toucher & Rich's debut.

Toucher & Rich focuses on all major league sports teams in the greater Boston area. This includes the Patriots, the Celtics, the Bruins, and the city's beloved Red Sox. Because of the show's popularity, Toucher & Rich often has pro athletes on as guests. These interviews are candid and funny.
