This episode features Annette Chambers of the Southside Harley Davidson family in Indianapolis, IN. My guest today is Len Bilello, the host and producer of the podcast Arrive Alive. He may not be a Sportbikegrrl, but he's someone who I really want you to know about. Arrive Alive is a podcast devoted to motorcycle safety. It may sound a bit dry, but it couldn't be more fun and enjoyable to listen to. When doing some research before starting my own podcast, his was one of the first that I discovered and listened to. He has recorded over 50 episodes so far and has an impressive roster of guests that he has chatted with, including many terrific women riders.Len is also the organizer of the Meet Up group, NYC Motorcycle Meetup. They host many great rides and events, including their Two-Wheel Tuesday meetups. If you ride in the NY tri-state area you need to check it out!My guest has some terrific stories and advice to share with us all. We never got around to telling the tale of his moto mishap on the Hutchinson River Parkway in NY, but I encourage you to listen to his first episode to hear that story and also more about the incident in 2019 that inspired him to launch his podcast. And of course the dozens of episodes to follow, all filled with great advice and information.

I’ve really been looking forward to today’s episode for quite awhile. I get to chat with three incredible women from right here in Connecticut. They are all avid 3-wheelers, all owners of Can-Am Rykers, so we are focusing on the 3 wheel life today.Those who are familiar with the massive growth in popularity of 3 wheelers know that the main players in this sector of motorsports are Can-Am and Polaris. Today we are going to focus on the Can-Am, a company that for decades was synonymous with motorcross bikes.Now they are most widely known for the 3-wheels models the Ryker and the Spyder. While the Spyder is larger and has other design differences, the primary difference between the two is horsepower. A base-model Ryker comes with a 2-cylinder 600cc engine, where the Spyder is fitted with a 1,300cc 3-cylinder engine that produces about 105 horsepower.The Ryker is definitely powerful enough for Trilogyon3 in CT and I’m really excited to share their story with you here today. Not So Girlie is this week's guest, a wonderful rider and blogger named Veronica. She lives on Long Island in NY and has created a blog named Not So Girlie. Veronica was born in PR and learn to ride five years ago in an MSF course. We have a terrific conversation about the process of learning to ride, how she choose her first bike, as well as her perspectives on woman and motorcycling, the lack of good gear for women, issues of safety and so much more. My guest today is rider and moto gear innovator Jen Burch, co-creator of Hightail Hair. This incredible product helps riders with long hair to not only stay safe while riding, but it keeps their hair tangle-free and looking fabulous once the ride is over. She has such a terrific story to share. Jen has ridden and owned motorcycles not only in the US, but in Japan and Australia as well. It was her own struggles with containing her long, fine hair that led to her creation of Hightail Hair. There may be some other similar products out there, but there is nothing like a Hightail, and we will tell you why.

My guest on today’s episode is one amazing lady, Verity Yata. You probably know her on Instagram as @crazy.asian.lady and she is a powerhouse. I don’t think I've met anyone who’s done so much, so well, against some pretty big odds. Despite the challenges she has faced in life, this sportbikegrrl is out to conquer. Verity’s a mechanical engineer, runs her own professional photography business, is a martial arts competitor, a cancer survivor, and takes some of the greatest pics I’ve seen online with her little sidekick, her dog Stella. In this week’s episode I am featuring a truly amazing woman, Leslie Reyes. Leslie is the author of the new book “The Zen of Learning to Ride a Motorcycle.“ In this very personal and intimate memoir, Leslie recounts growing up with a mother suffering from schizophrenia and the mental health issues she struggled with as a result of that trauma as a young child. Years of misdiagnoses, drug addiction and codependent relationships led to many difficult years, but she overcame it all with tremendous strength and grace.Originally from the NY area, Leslie now resides in CA. After attempting to learn to ride and get her moto license when she was younger, she accomplished her goal at the age of 50. Today’s episode focuses on one of the greatest forces in women’s motorcycling today – The Litas. The Litas is a worldwide collective of women supporting women who share a common passion for motorcycles. There are over 20k members worldwide with almost 300 chapters in over 30 countries. Cris Simmons is a renowned motorcycling industry writer and editor, co-founding Harley Women magazine in 1985. She is the author of The American Motorcycle Girls: 1900-1950, widely considered the definitive history book of women and motorcycling. She is a passionate rider and collector of vintage Harleys and has participated in numerous Cannonball endurance races as well. She is an Honorary Lifetime Member of Women In The Wind, a Lifetime HOG member, and has been inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

Today I chat with Shiree Cano, founder of the charity SheeMotos and well as TNTonTrack and Curves and Corners, sponsors of women-focus track days and rider education clinics in Northern California. Shiree founded her charity to support other women also recovering from PTSD and introduces them to the joys of motorcycling.

Today I welcome Anthea McCarten of Kent, England. Anthea is a lady biker, a mental health counsellor and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. We discuss her new book and how she not only is a survivor, but is now thriving in her adult life, in large part due to her newfound love of motorcycling.
