Our Editor's Take

When it comes to finding advice on being an adult, Gettin' Grown is a great podcast to listen to. Keia and Jade, the podcast's creators, are two Black women passionate about life. That yearning is what they want to share with the world. They give their listeners tips, advice, and a good dose of humor on everyday matters.

Every Tuesday, the podcast hosts get together to talk about whatever is on their minds. They discuss everything from handling workplace struggles to developing good self-care habits. They do so in a setting that feels personal. "The Kitchen Table," as Keia and Jade call it, is where they sit down to chat. It serves as a place to speak with honesty about any subject they want. This results in conversations that are wise and inspirational for their listeners. Keia and Jade give their best family, love, and health advice.

The hosts sometimes invite special guests to the podcast to add to their enlightening commentary. These visitors have found success in their careers. Amber Wallin, for instance, is a successful yoga instructor, entertainer, and mother. She joins Keia and Jade to discuss her accomplishments and share what raising a child is like.

Bonni Scotch also appears on Gettin' Grown. This multifaceted creative has worked on music, cosmetology, jewelry-making, and more. Singer-songwriter Spree Wilson explains life and the creative process for an artist. Other guests include KJ Kearny, Chariell Baisden-Bond, and Dr. Felicia Commodore. Each conversation is entertaining and informative.

The Gettin' Grown podcast is a Loud Speakers Network production. This group dedicates itself to producing podcasts with unique voices. Jade and Keia's show is an excellent example. Neither of these hosts is afraid to speak her mind, which makes it feel personal and funny. Listeners may find inspiration in the women's musings along with plenty of humor.
