The host believes that being healthy requires more than good nutrition and exercise. Good relationships, self-esteem, and better sex are all a part of the health journey. That is why her podcast deals with various topics that might seem unrelated.

Understanding she had developed disordered eating, Wakefield sought help from a psychiatrist. The host also received a diagnosis of complex post-traumatic stress disorder. After years of working on herself, she learned her control issues with food had a deeper cause.

That realization made her want to help others in her situation. Wakefield founded the Girl Fit Method to support women who want to break free of food. She assisted them in changing their mindset. She also helped them train in a way that contributed to their happiness. The podcast continues this work with a broader audience.

Girl Fit Method Podcast discusses ways to stop yo-yo dieting and binge eating. Wakefield interviews nutritionists, therapists, coaches, and physicians for professional guidance. There are episodes about training with endometriosis and the problem of intuitive eating. The host discusses fitness myths and navigating harmful relationships. Wakefield also invites people from her training program to share their success stories.
