#34: Chiara Jorristma - Intuitive eating, and why your body needs you to LISTEN UP!
We sink our teeth into 'Intuitive Eating' with non-diet dietitian, and body image coach, Chiara Jorristma.  Trigger Warning: Eating disorders, restrictive dieting, diet culture.  This episode is an ode to listening to your body. Listening to the cues we are instinctively given, and exploring this relationship through food, through emotion, and through rest.   Chiara shares common traits of disordered eating, some of which are so familiar and prevalent, that they have been adopted by society as norms. Then she delves into the philosophy of eating intuitively, and why the practice is often harder than it should be. #29: Melba Seto The Practice of Showing Up
If you need motivation to get out of bed each day, and try cool shit, Melba Seto is your woman. Melba is the owner of Calgary's famous adventure soap company, Bowness Soapworks, and an avid explorer of life. She shares perspective on the many, many, hours she has committed to learning new skills, and why sharing the journey is so important to her. Being skilled, knowledgeable, and successful takes time. We discuss preconceived ideas of needing to be talented to be worthy of a pursuit, and the misconceptions that others have built their skills overnight. We also discuss something very close to Melba's heart, mindfulness and the practices that teach focus, and calm, in stressful situations. Melba has used climbing, kayaking, and cold water immersion as tools to help manage her own past trauma, behaviour patterns and anxiety. #26 Cirrus Tan My New Body
Competitive climber, trainer and coach, Cirrus Tan talks to us about her pregnancy journey.  Cirrus has such a beautiful perspective of the experience, as she chats to us during the 35th week of her first pregnancy.  What shines through is her ability to be very open to the unknown of what's to come, while still showing up each day and meeting her body exactly where it's at.  We also talk about the growing representation of mothers in sport, and how the stories shared by others is paving a more realistic outlook of a journey that can vary so much from person to person.  Cirrus has created a gorgeous training journal called 'My New Body' that allows pregnant athletes to track training throughout their pregnancy.
