Our Editor's Take

Nick Wright's sports knowledge is plenty sufficient to warrant his own podcast. But with What's Wright? with Nick Wright, the Fox sportscaster, is putting a fresh perspective on sports podcasting.

Wright has already gained renown for his ultra-candid conversations. He criticizes players he hates (Tom Brady) and compliments players he loves (Lebron James). And unlike on his Fox Sports talk show, First Things First, he has full control on the podcast. He can talk about whatever he wants on What's Wright?

Wright's cohost is his oldest son, Damonza. His wife and two daughters, Diorra and Deanna, also appear. And when the family's not around, they still have a presence. When the clock runs out, it's a recording of Deanna's voice that says—annoyed—“Time's up, Daddy, you gotta stop talking now!”

Wright records three podcast episodes a week. He allows himself to stretch a bit with the third show. Wright might bring his audience in-depth special content. One such feature is his 50 Greatest Players of the Last 50 Years in the NBA series.

The host also prioritizes current events when important enough. But for the most part, What's Wright? keeps it light. Wright sticks to trivia and predictions and focuses on the fun stuff—in various loungewear, from the comfort of his own home.
