Welcome to the SMACtalk For Educators podcast! This is part of the Divison of Elementary and Secondary Education's SMACtalk initiative. A monthly podcast featuring interviews with prominent educators working with education and technology, SMACtalk for Educators has a different theme for every episode centered around promoting online safety and security for educators.
For October, our focus is on fostering healthy virtual relationships.
The interviewer, Cassandra Barnett has been a school librarian for 42 years and is currently the Program Advisor for School Libraries for the Arkansas Department of Education. Digital citizenship is part of what school librarians teach so we are very interested in helping our students be responsible and ethical when online.
Susan Jobe is the G.U.I.D.E. for Life Specialist at the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. She has 14 years of classroom experience, serving in the Des Arc and Vilonia School Districts as an English Language Arts teacher as well as certifications in Curriculum and Instruction and Building Administration for grades K-12. She is passionate about serving and supporting teachers in facilitating development of the personal competency skills found in the G.U.I.D.E. for Life in their students and prioritizing educator self-care and the cultivation of emotional resilience.
