CBS Sunday Morning first aired on national television in 1979. Since then, only three people have hosted the program. Charles Karault was the inaugural anchor; later, Charles Osgood took over. He spent 22 years at the helm before handing the baton to Jane Pauley in 2016.

Pauley first joined CBS in 2014. Before then, she hosted the Jane Pauley Show, Dateline NBC, and NBC's Today show. Since starting her career in the 1970s, Jane Pauley has become one of the most decorated journalists on American television.
