Syria is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited places. Being one of the cradles of human civilization as a part of the fertile crescent of the Middle East, Syria boasts a rich and diverse heritage spanning ancient times. However, what we hear of today is a Syria embroiled in a civil war, killing hundreds of thousands of people and displacing millions of others.  We speak about 2 narratives today; One, that of the Syrian identity crisis and second, the various underpinning that led to the Syrian civil war.
