The Road To The Stanley Cup! Crossover Edition With Locked On Florida Panthers
Game 1 of the best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final gets underway in Las Vegas on Saturday night at 5pm PT as VGK hosts the Florida Panthers. To set the scene, our Tony Cordasco and Locked On Panthers host Armando Velez preview the series. The discuss storylines, players to watch, intangibles and they have predictions for the series. The Golden Knights and Jack Eichel, in his first playoff and Cup series, meet red-hot Florida, led by Matthew Tkachuk, who many believe is the new face of the NHL. They are the leading scorers for their respective teams coming in the Cup Final. VGK has beaten Winnipeg, Edmonton and Dallas to advance to their second Final in their first six years of existence. Florida will be upset-minded, as the #16 seed defeated top-seed Boston, Toronto, and swept the Hurricanes in four games to win the Eastern Conference championship. We discussed the goalie battle between Adin Hill, who models his game after the great Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo, and Sergei Bobrovsky of Florida, who is returning to the form he displayed in winning two Vezina Trophies. Among the players to watch for VGK aside from Eichel and Hill are William Karlsson, who has 10 goals in the playoffs and former Panther Jonathan Marchessault. Tony's X-Factor is Ivan "The Great" Barbeshev, who has 15 ponts in the playoffs in 17 games. He has done it quietly. Tony also likes Barbeshev as a Conn Smythe darkhorse. Whichever team wins the series will be celebrating its first Stanley Cup Championship. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only. VGK Quest For The Cup! Keys, Predictions and WTF heading into the Stanley Cup Final against Florida

VGK Quest For The Cup! Keys, Predictions and WTF heading into the Stanley Cup Final against Florida
One year removed from not making the playoffs, the Vegas Golden Knights will begin their Quest for The Cup Saturday at T-Mobile Arena against upset minded Florida. The Panthers defeated three of the hottest teams in the NHL enroute to the Final. They will have nine days off between games when they step on the ice on Saturday. VGK is a team that is looking for respect, after a lot of experts overlooked the Golden Knights despite winning the Pacific and Western Conference in the regular season. Some of the keys in the series include: How will VGK slow down the Panthers Matthew Tkachuk in the series? Will Jack Eichel take over in the Final? VGK has to avoid going into the penalty box against an opportunistic Florida team. The Golden Knights need to establish an identity early in the series against a team that is very physical. Also VGK has to win D zone faceoffs and protect the puck. We have our series predictions and as always on Friday's, it's time for WTF with listener comments. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. SWOT Analysis of VGK's Stanley Cup Final opponent, Florida Panthers

SWOT Analysis of VGK's Stanley Cup Final opponent, Florida Panthers
We decided to do a SWOT analysis of the Florida Panthers from our perspective and we matched each area with comments on how VGK can counter or take advantage of some of the areas. We broke down Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats on today's show. VGK will have to play well against a team that is playing loose and comes in with a lot of confidence. Among the Cats weaknesses: poor defense for most of the regular season, and too much time off (9 days) between games. Opportunities.. each team and each head coach are vying for their first Stanley Cup title. Threats: Matthew Tkachuk is leading the Panthers with 21 points. VGK will have to neutralize him and keep him away from the front of the net. Netfront presence is also a threat for Florida. And Bobrovsky can get into a zone. The Golden Knights are headed to the Stanley Cup Final after 6-0 closeout win over the Stars
The Golden Knights are headed back to the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in their six years of existence. VGK put away the Dallas Stars with a 6-0 shutout win in Game 6 to take the series 4-2. They now meet the Florida Panthers with Game 1 at the Fortress set for this Saturday. In Monday's game William Karlsson scored twice and had an assist, Jonathan Marchessault added a goal, and VGK's fourth line played well following a lackluster Game 5 effort. Head Coach Bruce Cassidy inserted Nic Roy as the center for Monday's game on the 4th line and the line had a lot of jump, forechecked well and was rewarded with two goals by William Carrier and Keegan Kolesar. We discuss VGK advancing to the Cup Final by playing team hockey, with different players stepping up each night. Adin Hill didn't have a heavy load in recording his second shutout of the series. It is now on to the Cup Final for a second time. VGK is favored to win the series. We also credit head coach Bruce Cassidy - now South Beach Bruce - for the job he did with the team this season. VGK tries to closeout the WCF series for a third time in Dallas tonight!

VGK tries to closeout the WCF series for a third time in Dallas tonight!
Bruce Cassidy said Sunday that VGK has to be harder on pucks and get back to winning puck battles in Game 6 in Dallas tonight. The Golden Knights come off a 4-2 home loss. They will need to rely on their veteran players to light a fire under them and they have to manage the puck better. Cassidy pointed to the 24 giveaways and said your not even beating Arizona in January when you turn the puck over that many times. You can also credit the Dallas forecheck for their success in both games 4 and 5 as they have staved off elimination. If not for Adin Hill, again, VGK might have been blown out at home. He made several key saves in Saturday's game. Dallas will benefit from the return of its Captain Jamie Benn in tonight's game, he's been sidelined due to his suspension for the crosscheck on Mark Stone the past two games. Game 6 could also be about the response. The Golden Knights can ill-afford to allow Dallas back in the game if VGK scores first or takes a lead. Dallas came back twice Saturday by scoring goals 1:48 and 2:09 after the Golden Knights scored goals. We also have our Locks of the Knight and predictions for tonight's game. WCF heads back to Vegas after VGK loses to Stars in OT; lead series 3-1
For the first time in the postseason VGK failed to close out an opponent as the Dallas Stars pulled out a 3-2 OT win in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final. The Golden Knights now lead the series 3-1. They were hoping to win and sweep the series as the Florida Panthers are awaiting the winner of the WCF. Brayden McNabb committed two high sticking penalties and each resulted in a goal for the Stars, including Joe Pavelski's OT winner. William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault scored goals for VGK. The Stars were led by Jason Robertson's pair of goals. Dallas was shorthanded as team captain Jamie Benn served the first of his two-game suspension. Evgenii Dadonov also missed Thursday's game with a lower body injury. VGK's Zach Whitecloud might have injured his right arm blocking a shot late in the game. Adin Hill stopped 39 of 42 shots on net. Game 5 is Saturday at 5pm. If VGK can close out the Stars, they will represent the West in the Cup Final vs Florida starting on Wednesday. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. Can VGK close out its third straight series and win the Campbell Cup Thursday night?

Can VGK close out its third straight series and win the Campbell Cup Thursday night?
With the Florida Panthers claiming the Eastern Conference title Wednesday night, will there be added pressure on VGK to wrap up its series against the Stars Thursday, so the Panthers don't get additional rest before the Cup Final begins. VGK has a commanding 3 games to none lead over Dallas. Pete DeBoer's Stars got routed in an ugly game on its home ice Tuesday night 4-0. It was a game in which Jamie Benn, the Stars Captain, crosschecked Mark Stone of VGK, in the face. The NHL came down hard on Benn in the aftermath as he was hit with a two-game suspension. With Benn and Evgenii Dadonov (lower body injury) out, DeBoer is scrambling on who to play in his lineup. He could go with an 11/7 structure in the game. Brett Howden of VGK is questionable to play in Game 4 Thursday night. We have our Locks of the Knight and predictions, plus is it superstitious to host the Campbell Trophy, if VGK wins? It's Benn Real! VGK whips Stars 4-0, will look to closeout series Thursday.

It's Benn Real! VGK whips Stars 4-0, will look to closeout series Thursday.
VGK's Jonathan Marchessault scored just 1:11 into Game 3 and it was the game-winner as VGK manhandled the Dallas, 4-0 in a game that turned ugly for the Stars and their fans. Seconds after the Marchessault goal, Stars Captain Jamie Benn check the VGK Captain Mark Stone hard and as Stone fell to the ground, Benn followed through with a vicious crosscheck to the chin on Stone while he was on the ice. Fortunately for VGK, Stone was ok. But Benn was tossed from the game with a misconduct penalty and it gave the Golden Knights a five-minute power play. VGK's Ivan Barbeshev scored four minutes into the lengthy power play. The Golden Knights William Carrier would score his first goal of the playoffs - the 16th such VGK player to do so. That gave VGK a 3-0 lead in just 7:10 and chased Jake Oettinger of the Stars, who gave up three goals on just five shots. The game got ugly late in the second period when Max Domi slashed Nic Hague, then followed the penalty with a barrage of punches. Domi drew a penalty and so did Hague, who didn't even retaliate on the play. This was followed by Dallas fans littering the ice and the 2nd period had to be halted 22 before it expired. The fourth VGK goal was scored :01 after a power play expired by Alex Pietrangelo. Adin Hill turned away 34 shots for his first NHL postseason shutout. VGK looks to closeout the series on Thursday night in Dallas. They are 2-0 in closeout games. We also talk about the contributions of Ivan Barbeshev, who has seven points in his last five games. The Golden Knights have now won five straight games. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only. Bonus issued as nonwithdrawable free bets that expires in 14 days. Stephenson redeems himself with Game 2 OT winner. VGK goes up 2-0 in WCF!
Chandler Stephenson scored the game-winning goal 1:12 into overtime to lift VGK to its second OT win in as many games as the WCF now shifts to Dallas for Games 3 and 4. Stephenson earlier in the game had a couple of penalties that could have cost VGK. The first one was a slash, the second came at the end of the second period as the Golden Knights were trying to push to tie up the game. He committed a cross-checking penalty on the Stars Miro Heiskanen. It was another retaliatory penalty for VGK out of a veteran player in the post-season. And it apparently deflated VGK for a while, even after they killed off the penalty. The Golden Knights were lifeless for most of the second and into the latter stages of the third period. With just 2:22 remaining, and VGK about to pull goalie Adin Hill, the Stars Ryan Suter turned over the puck and put it onto the stick of Jack Eichel. Jackie Aces sent a backhanded dime into the slot and Jonathan Marchessault scored the equalizer. Then early into the OT period, the Stars were in a line change, they turned the puck over and VGK moved quickly. Shea Theodore put a shot on net and a rebound came to Stephenson, who scored the game-winner. VGK now has a lot of momentum heading into Dallas, leading the series 2-0. VGK pulled out a 3-2 win on Sunday. Mark Stone scored a goal in an early in the first period on a 5-on-3 advantage. Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson had goals for the Stars. This is episode #600 for Locked on VGK! FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only. Bonus issued as nonwithdrawable free bets that expires in 14 days. Special Edition - Game 1 Reax and Game 2 Preview
The Golden Knights took the first game of the series against the Dallas Stars Friday 4-3 in overtime. It was a Brett Howden goal from behind the net that got past Jake Oettinger to give VGK the 1-0 series lead in the best-of-seven WCF. The Golden Knights dominated most of the first period of the game, before Jason Robertson scored his first goal in nine games to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. William Karlsson scored the equalizer in the second period and the game was tied heading into the third period. The Golden Knights have now outscored opponents in the second period 20-5. VGK held a 3-2 lead late on goals by Karlson and Teddy Blueger, but the Stars captain Jamie Benn tied the game at three with just under two minutes remaining to force overtime. The Golden Knights' Howden had the only shot of the extra period. It was a light hitting game and the Stars fell behind for a third consecutive series by losing another overtime game in the playoffs. We will see what adjustments the coaches make for Sunday's game, but the Stars need to get out to a quicker start. Preview of some interesting VGK player matchups in the WCF vs Dallas
On today's show we break down some of the interesting matchups that we could see in the upcoming Western Conference Finals Series between VGK and Dallas. The marquee matchup would probably pit VGK's Jack Eichel and Roope Hintz of the Stars. They have 33 playoff points between them. Turning back the clock, we could see Original Misfit Jonathan Marchessault against Joe Pavelski, who had 8 goals in the last series vs Seattle. What about Mark Stone vs VGK cast-off Evgenii Dadonov? Jamie Benn against VGK's William Carrier. These intriguing matchups could be a sign this is a very tight series. We also discuss how the Dallas Power Play could be more lethal than Edmontons Dallas has had a playoff-high 25 opportunities, twice as many as VGK. The Golden Knights are going to need to get more PP opportunities themselves. And we talk about a Dallas-area columnist who's VGK joke backfired. And will the Arizona Coyotes be on the move after voters rejected three measures to build the team a new arena. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only. We highlight the coaching matchup as VGK meets Dallas, DeBoer in WCF
Pete DeBoer will return to Las Vegas to face his former team when the Dallas Stars roll into town for Game 1 on Friday afternoon at 5:30pm. DeBoer was soured after VGK fired him last season. He has beaten the Golden Knights all three meetings this season. He was the head coach with VGK for the better part of three years. We talk about the coaching matchup and who might have the upper hand. Bruce Cassidy has a structure that DeBoer might not be familiar with and he has players like Jack Eichel, that DeBoer hasn't seen at 100%. DeBoer, meanwhile is familiar with the core players for VGK. Dallas won the season series 3-0. Dallas rolls four lines and could pose a challenge with all of its starpower too. Max Domi and Evgenii Dadonov (former Golden Knight) were key trade deadline acquisitions. Roope Hintz is among the playoff leaders with 19 points. Eichel leads the Golden Knights with 14 playoff points, Mark Stone has 12 for VGK. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only. VGK advances to the WCF! Is a new rivalry born with Oilers and who's the next opponent?

VGK advances to the WCF! Is a new rivalry born with Oilers and who's the next opponent?
For the fourth time in six years the Golden Knights advanced to the Western Conference Finals by eliminating the Edmonton Oilers, 5-2 in Game Six. The star of the night was Jonathan Marchessault, who scored a natural hat trick - all coming in the second period as VGK trailed 2-1 before that goal. VGK blew the game open at that point and led 4-2. William Karlsson added an empty netter in the game's final minute. Adin Hill allowed two Oilers goals on their first two shots then he settled down to stop the next 37 shots. VGK chased starting goalie Stuart Skinner after the second period. VGK is now 2-2 in closeout games this season. Up next the Golden Knights face either the Seattle Kraken or the Dallas Stars, who play a 7th game in their series tonight. The Golden Knights would probably want a matchup with the Kraken, who they have beaten three of four meetings this season. We also discuss if VGK-Edmonton is a new rivalry? We also talk about the key points in the Oilers series. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only. Suspensions for Pietrangelo, Nurse ahead of Game 5. Which team has a bigger hole to fill?
The NHL suspended VGK's Alex Pietrangelo and Edmonton's Darnell Nurse Thursday for their parts in Game 4 incidents. Petro for his slash on Leon Draisaitl with 1:37 remaining in the contest, and Nurse for being an instigator in the fight against the Golden Knights Nick Hague. We discuss which player's loss will have a greater impact on their team. Both are team leaders and play the most minutes of the blueliners for their team. VGK could see Ben Hutton inserted into the lineup or Brayden Pachal. Philip Broberg will probably draw in for the Oilers, who have played a lot of the 11/7 structure and he has been a part of the lineup for 8 playoff games. VGK will need to have an early jump at home Friday. Who will be the target for Edmonton with Petro out? Will they continue to crosscheck Mark Stone? Jack Eichel? They have picked a target every game. We also have out predictions and Locks of the Knight. Plus, it's WTF (What The Friday) time again. FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. First online real money wager only.
