Our guest today is the talented and down-to-earth Justin White, whom we had the pleasure of meeting at his bungalow home in the suburbs of Memphis. As we arrived, Justin welcomed us from his balcony and directed us to park the van in his driveway. We could tell right away that we were in the presence of a musician, with guitars and music memorabilia filling the room.
Justin shared with us his early start in music, getting his first guitar at the age of 10 and playing in a group on the DD Ranch in Plano, Texas. He moved to Memphis with his family, where he grew up in the church of Christ and was heavily influenced by his religious upbringing. However, as he got older, he lost his trust and love for religion and now considers himself more of an agnostic.
As a father of three, Justin talked about the impact of fatherhood on his life and his relationship with his partner. He's shifted away from his previous rock 'n' roll lifestyle and has taken up podcasting as a side gig. He loves to entertain people and provide them with a break from their everyday troubles through his podcasts and especially playing music.
Throughout our conversation, Justin shared some great reminders for us all. He encourages us to tell the people we love that we love them, to share compliments when we have them, and to simply try new things. We were grateful for Justin's openness and willingness to share his story with us. Join us as we journey through the jar with Justin, as he picks his way through the memories and experiences that have shaped him into the talented and thoughtful person he is today.
