We had the opportunity to meet Casey Lee at her apartment in downtown Springfield, located in a building called the 505. When we arrived, Casey was outside, taking a moment for herself and enjoying a cigarette before the interview.

Casey's upbringing was marked by an abusive home environment riddled with drug use. Her parents separated when she was just 11 years old, and her mother consistently played the victim, even in everyday interactions. From a young age, Casey saw through her mother's manipulations and realized the falsehoods behind her actions. Casey was exposed to parties where drugs were prevalent, and her mother even approved of her dating a boyfriend at the age of 13 and offered him drugs.

In a bizarre turn of events, Casey's mother somehow managed to present herself as the "mom of the year" at school, despite her involvement with methamphetamines and the energy derived from dealing drugs. This stark contrast between her mother's public persona and their private reality left a lasting impact on Casey.

As a result of her traumatic experiences and her genetics, Casey has been diagnosed with several mental health issues. However, she has also discovered a connection to the spirit world through her struggles. We engage in deep and thought-provoking conversations about her unique gifts and insights.

Casey's story continues to unfold as she shares her journey of marriage and becoming a mother to three children. Unfortunately, the cycle of addiction found its way back into her life, and from 2014 to 2017, she became a methamphetamine user, ultimately leading to her signing over the rights to her children and losing custody of them.

Even as we speak with Casey, she finds herself struggling financially, behind on rent, and facing the possibility of eviction. However, she remains hopeful that her work as a podcaster and her involvement in mass media, including internet radio and promoting local musicians, will help her overcome these challenges. The Jar becomes a vessel through which we hear the incredible story of Casey's indomitable spirit, showcasing her resilience and unwavering determination to never give up.
