In this fourth episode, young Latina voters discuss how their generation looks at the future, politicians, and this election. Our guests note that too many of their friends cannot afford to buy a home and are forced to move back home with their parents. Many others rely on financial help, unable to keep up with rent or afford to buy a home otherwise. They also discuss issues key to Latinas such as reproductive health and immigration.

Moderator: Lydia Guzman. Guests: Esau Torres and Bacilia Angel.  It’s been said that “music can save the world.” Maybe – if we register to vote and turn out for the election in large numbers. In this episode, we look at creative ways to reach the Latino community in “a fun and entertaining” way: free family-oriented music and concerts, such as Vota-Palooza. CPLC Action Fund is a partner with Grita Canta Vota, using music as an avenue to engage new voters.

This second episode wades into a range of topics, focusing on education funding, climate change, women’s reproductive health, gun violence, and disability rights within the Latino community. Our panelists reflect on personal experiences regarding the education system, and voice their concerns over inadequate funding and resources that have impacted students, especially those from inner-city schools.

In this first episode, we dive into the origins of the nonpartisan voter engagement campaign and the importance of voting and civic engagement by the Latino community, regardless of party affiliation. We highlight the diversity of Arizona voters, noting how closely divided the battleground states of Arizona and Nevada are, and how the Latino vote likely will determine the outcomes.
