100-Year-Old Yarmouth Veteran Reads 'In Flanders Fields'

In this week's episode, we present our Remembrance Day-themed program.

One of our province's oldest living veterans resides in Yarmouth. 104-year-old Jim McRae joined the army when he was 23 years old in 1941, with the 162 Squadron during the Second World War.

He is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and became the oldest person to lay a wreath at last year's Remembrance Day ceremony in Yarmouth. We hear McRae read John McCrae's 1915 poem 'In Flanders Fields,' recorded in 2018.

We will have more on upcoming Remembrance Day services in Yarmouth and Wedgeport.

We'll also re-visit Jakob Postlewaite's interview with local historian David Sollows from last year, and share a series of letters written by a local soldier during World War 1.
