How to Stop "People Pleasing" | It Ruins Your Relationships and Destroys Your Identity
Welcome to Rooted Unlimited - Let's Heal Podcast with your host Colleena Carlisle. Let's heal trauma, break free from destructive habits, and become grounded, empowered, inspired, purpose-driven, transformed, and the best version of ourselves. Episode Overview: We are back with another episode in the codependency series, discussing the self-sabotaging habits of a codependent. In today's Let's Heal podcast episode, we will focus on the self-sabotaging habit of "people pleasing." A "people pleaser" constantly seeks the approval and validation of external sources. They are constantly the "yes man" and unable to internally validate themselves. The habit of "people pleasing" can be tied to several root issues; such as overly critical caregivers growing up, neglect and abandonment, and a few more unhealthy situations. The "people pleaser" habit can be manipulative and toxic in relationships with others and hinder a person's relationship with God. God designed us to be pleasers of God and not people. I will discuss how "people pleasing" can impact a person's life, self-worth, value, and identity. I will then share tips for how to overcome "people-pleasing" and get to the root cause of the issue. The Power of Forgiveness | Why It's Worth It | Walk in Freedom
Welcome to Rooted Unlimited - Let's Heal Podcast with your host Colleena Carlisle. Let's heal trauma, break free from destructive habits, and become grounded, empowered, inspired, purpose-driven, transformed, and the best version of ourselves. Episode Overview: In today's episode, I discuss the importance of forgiveness. Often people miss this step in their process of healing. Healing cannot happen without forgiveness. Forgiveness does not mean we forget or what has happened to us is okay. Forgiveness is freedom, taking away the power of what a person did or the pain we experienced over our lives. When we focus on the past or hold on to the past, it hinders our ability to move forward. Holding onto unforgiveness can have serious consequences and impact our lives in several ways. I will discuss how forgiveness is vital, not for the other person or people who may have hurt you, but for you. Please read the disclaimer below! Stop Blaming Yourself for their Abuse! Narcissist Series
Welcome to Rooted Unlimited - Let's Heal Podcast with your host Colleena Carlisle. Let's heal trauma, break free from destructive habits, become rooted and grounded, empowered and inspired, purpose-driven, transformed, and the best version of ourselves. In today's episode, we will continue the narcissist series. I will talk about how victims need to stop blaming themselves for the actions of their abusers.
