Notes:

PUTTING TOO MUCH ON YOUR PLATE

I am guilty of putting too much on my plate

I create lists to manage it

I get overwhelmed by my lists

To more effectively manage my lists I began using software

  • Outlook Tasks
  • Google Tasks (when cloud was in it's infancy)
  • Evernote

Then began using Evernote with GTD via The Secret Weapon

Overwhelming - looked for new solution

Began using Nozbe for task / project management

This *integrated* with Evernote, Calendars, Dropbox, etc.

Seemed sensible when I first started using it

Allows you to make lists, assign to projects, delegate to team members, check things off, track when delegated tasks have been completed...

...it was great and I wanted my team members to use it as well

Those ideas didn't really take - but I also wasn't in direct management position, and in shared office environment it's not necessary

Then...I began using it improperly

Began using it as a way to HOUSE information instead of "self-delegating" tasks

Now...before I get too far down the road, these are some ways to manage all the things we've put on our plate

WE PUT TOO MUCH ON OUR PLATE

Now what?

Why'd we do this in the first place?

Our lives have been out of balance.

We've been focused too heavily on one aspect of life, while sacrificing focus in the other areas of life.

Now what?

We regain balance?

How?

Easy - exactly in the manner outlined in the series that just completed last Sunday.

We work through 2022 goals

Be specific, and measurable

Eliminate everything else

I have some ways of more effectively utilizing Nozbe along with Evernote in order to assist me with this visual / mental clutter

but that's going to be for another episode

Start today.  You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
