EP 151: BEST OF SERIES -- Making the pivot to open your own practice with Kori Frieling
It takes a lot of courage to make the leap to start your own massage or bodywork practice when you’ve been working for other people for your entire career. But having a mentor and colleagues to help you throughout the process could be just what you need to start! I’m thrilled to have one of my students from The Bodywork Project, Kori Frieling, on the podcast today to share her experience with the program and the pivot she was able to make in her career. Kori shares her experience pivoting from an employee at a day spa to starting her own practice in Colorado, all while raising her young daughter. This week on the Do It with Intention podcast: How identifying your ideal group of clients is just the first step in actualizing the vision for your career. Why it is so important to pair with someone in your career field while looking for a mentor. Kori’s experience interacting with the other Bodywork Project students that boosted her confidence. Resources from this episode: Kori Frieling has been a massage therapist since 2012 and CranioSacral Therapy practitioner since 2019. She loves to help people heal from injuries and relax. Kori has worked everywhere from high-end spas to chiropractic offices, and is now branching out into private practice. EP 149: BEST OF SERIES -- Creating new offers to serve your clients with Julie Taylor
Over the past year it has been so inspiring to watch my Bodywork Project students pivot their businesses during the pandemic to continue being of service to their clients. I am thrilled to have Julie Taylor, an experienced nurse practitioner, herbalist and reflexologist, join me on today’s episode as she shares her experiences in doing what she has always done in her career — pivoting with her passions to meet her clients’ needs. Take a listen as Julie shares how she translated lessons learned in The Bodywork Project into successful business practices she plans to continue in the years ahead, and find out about her unique connection to the okapi. (What’s an okapi, you ask? Listen in…) This week on the Do It with Intention podcast: How taking something simple that you’re knowledgeable in and turning it into a client offering can be of such great service to others if you’re just able to take that first step and put yourself out there. The misconception that in-person retreats need to be scaled for success and how, alternatively, small, intimate retreats can lead to the most healing and transformation. Ways to consider your massage and bodywork clients’ needs matched with your skillset to spark ideas for new offerings. The small and easy way to introduce a newsletter to your clients without overwhelming their inboxes. Julie’s new method of leading her introductory sessions that has allowed for richer, more meaningful discussions and appointments, which she’ll be continuing even after the pandemic! Resources from this episode: Julie Taylor is a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP-BC), nurse herbalist, Science of Energy Flow® Foot Reflexology Practitioner, and Herbal Diplomat® whose practice, Herbal Health and Healing Arts, helps people take charge of their own health/healing and encourages everyone to actively engage in self-care. Julie bridges traditional healing practices with biomedical healthcare to provide a foundation for partnering with plants for health and healing.
