Ep. 1: This is Me

This episode will introduce you to VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack, and what I'm hoping to accomplish here. As my friend Angelina Caskin says: "If a person's got a music collection, they ought to listen to it." In that spirit, I'll be exploring my collection of analog and digital entries dating back to the late 1980s, assessing and discussing them as I go.

I set a few ground rules as I begin this process. 1) Limit inside baseball - I'll try to avoid getting into the weeds of sound levels and transfer quality as I talk about this collection, and focus on ... 2) Limit trivia - We're all connected to the same internet. As I'm talking about my collection, I want to share more of the memories the songs themselves bring up, less what we could all find on Wikipedia, and 3) Reach out. If I talk about a song or an artist and that sparks some interest for you, I'll be sharing links made available by labels, license-holders or the artists themselves; you can check them out and buy them or add them to your streaming service playlist. I feel artists should get paid. I don't intend to interfere with that at all.

This is the brand-spankin'est new episode for a project that is still in the earliest of days, but getting us started, for this one I talk about R.E.M.'s "So Fast, So Numb" off their 1996 release "New Adventures in Hi-Fi" LP; the "Title Track" in this case references the lyric "This is Me."
