Is there someone who you are having a hard time forgiving? People make mistakes and no one is perfect. It is so important, for your healing, to have compassion and forgive others that have done you wrong. This does not mean reconciling but it means allowing your heart and body to release that pain. Healing takes time and some may find it helpful to seek therapy. This is great if you need help talking through and dissecting your feelings. When we are trying to uplevel ourselves this is when our past traumas can surface. Be aware of your body and your feelings so that you can address these as soon as possible. That way you can continue taking your life to that next level and treat people with kindness.    02:00 Forgive those who have hurt you. 05:35 How did I repair my relationship with God? 09:15 Heal the past versions of yourself. 12:45 It’s ok to retry something and be guarded at first.  15:40 Can compassion exist without reconciliation? 18:00 Healing can take years. 19:15 Therapy can help your healing process!

In fact, they recommend keeping a list of areas you disagree on so that you can have a weekly meeting with your partner to discuss these decisions/areas. In this episode I’m sharing how my husband Mike and I set goals for this year, the pillars we focus our goals around, and sharing an area of my life where I’ve gotten soft. Big goals can be easy to set. The ones that are further off in the distance that you likely don’t feel urgency to do anything about in this exact moment. That’s where so many people are missing the boat. Reaching your goals and creating the life you want has very little to do with the destination and everything to do with the daily action you take. Being in pursuit of an extraordinary life is going to come with resistance. It’s going to take consistent effort to create new habits. I’ve got good news and hard news. Both are that the journey is going to be hard, AND that resistance is what is going to expand your capacity IF you keep moving forward! I know you have what it takes!   01:00 What goal setting looks like for Mike and I as we start the new year! 03:50 Are you reserving time on your calendar for the most important things? 08:40 The pillars we focus on to set goals for the year! 12:00 What if you “fail” to reach your goal? 15:15 Lessons from doing hard workouts. 17:00 We don’t get stronger without resistance! 19:15 How are you deciding to show up in your life?

The great thing about life is that YOU get to define who you are. YOU get to decide what your standards are and who you are going to show up as. Being able to hold off on instant gratification is going to take you where you ultimately want to go. When you create a standard for yourself it is very rare that you will fall below that standard. Getting to those higher standards that you desire is going to take you leaving your comfort zone. Putting yourself in situations where you get a taste of what those new standards feel like. This can look like booking a first class ticket, eating a higher quality of food, or starting a fitness regimen that you have never done before. If you want to raise your standards you will also need to evaluate who you surround yourself with and what habits you need to adopt to get to that next level. Do you have big, audacious dreams and goals in life? Are you stuck in tending to a never ending to-do list and working toward rest? What if I told you that you’re doing it backwards. What would it look like in your life if you worked from a place of rest instead of rest being the end goal? Making sure to block out time for white noise or alone time to ensure your cup is filled up first in order to help others fill theirs. The people who make the biggest strides in life are those who work from rest and make time to fill their cup or “sharpen their axe”. Find the 1-3 things in your life that you need to be doing that would make other tasks lighter or unecessary. This allows for more time to focus on what you need. Did you know that most successful people spend more time on their own growth and development than their actual tasks? This is because when you are taken care of you are more capable of being creative, problem solving and moving the needle in your success. This may look different based on your current season of life that you are in. So take the time to figure out what season that is and what the future looks like for you. 4:00 Do you get energy from large group interactions or alone time? 5:30 Don’t forget to fill your cup first!  7:40 Remember what a privilege it is to serve those around us. 9:40 What does it mean to sharpen your axe?  10:50 How to identify your non-negotiables based on the season you are in. 12:15 Are you prioritizing what matters most in your life?
