Kent Weed is the creator and executive producer of the 7 time Emmy nominated hit NBC series, “AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR”. He is also the creator and executive producer of Gordon Ramsay’s award winning hit FOX tv series “HELL’S KITCHEN”
With a career in television spanning more than 3 decades, Kent has produced over 300 shows for 45 different networks. Throughout his career, Weed has worked in virtually every genre of television. Music, Game, Talk, Reality, Documentary. He was One of the youngest primetime network directors of his time, first directing the highly rated The Smothers Brothers Thanksgiving Special for CBS and The World’s Greatest Magic – NBC’s top 10 rates show for 5 years. In his career, He has directed over 70 television shows, working with every network. His work includes shows like Crash Course for ABC, Skating with Celebrities, I Married a Stranger, The World Music Awards, Wizard Wars, Celebrity Duets, The Choice, Spartan Team Challenge, American Ninja warrior Jr, ANW Ninja vs Ninja and Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Cook-along-live with Gordon Ramsay for FOX.
In 2000, he Co-founded reality television powerhouse A. Smith & Co. Productions; www.asmithco.com , with Arthur Smith and was an executive producer on all of the company’s projects, including the Emmy® and People's Choice Award-nominated hit shows Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, American Ninja Warrior, I Survived a Japanese Game Show, Full Throttle Saloon, Unsung, American Ninja Warrior, American Gangster, Pros Vs. Joes, The Swan, and Trading Spaces. In addition to his duties as President and Executive producer, Weed has also Directed many of the company’s projects, receiving two Directors Guild of America nominations for Spartan – Ultimate Team Challenge in 2017 and I Survived a Japanese Game Show in 2009, in addition to winning the international Rose d’Or award for Best format show in 2009.
In 2011, After building a hugely successful company with his partner, they sold the company for 100 million dollars. Kent continued to produce, direct and run the company serving as President for the next 6 years while continuing to study mindfulness, meditation, Qi Gong, breathing techniques, and becoming extremely knowledgeable in health, wellness and longevity through nutrition, diet and biohacking.
In 2018, Weed stepped down as President of the company he co-founded, to pursue his passion of finding one’s purpose and living your best life. Studying mindfulness, meditation and health for over a dozen years, He now uses his vast knowledge and experience and talents to help others who are struggling. Although, He continues to produce and direct shows that he is passionate about and that inspire others, his primary focus is on being of service to others, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience to guide and support people to live their best lives.
