The Sound of Accra Podcast

Adrian Daniels

In 2019, Adrian Daniels had a brainwave to launch a podcast platform to showcase Ghanaian excellence to the world. The internet is already crowded with content from Ghana: YouTube, Social Media pages, etc. However, after hosting 2x Networking Events during Christmas 2018 & 2019 in Accra for the Global African Diaspora, Adrian noticed a lack and desire for networking, whilst meeting many creatives and entrepreneurs from around the globe. In January 2020, The Sound of Accra Podcast was born. Powerful interviews with Top Founders, Entrepreneurs and Creatives from Ghanaian heritage or interest, leaving listeners with meaningful takeaways for life, business and career. New episodes weekly. The Value and Challenges of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Implementation in Companies
In this snippet of our interview with Alicia Richardson, she explains to Adrian what Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is all about, along with the challenges it brings. She also makes a strong business case why all companies needs to consider DEI as part of their internal employee strategies.  Listen to the full episode here or watch on YouTube here Notable quotes: "A lot of companies use the word culture fit a lot of the times when they're advertising for jobs or when they're looking for people. And the change should be culture ads. And that's the inclusion piece. That's the inclusion mentality. That actually you're different, but you can add something different." "The problem is with DEI as a consultant that I've identified, is that companies say they want to do it and they want to apply DEI, but a lot of them don't know how."
