Mission Statement:
Through music and mentoring, we provide a path to self improvement and transform the lives of the underserved members of our community. Inspiring and healing through musical experiences and enhancing the lives of all ages, in a creative and caring environment, we inspire and heal through musical experiences, enhancing the lives of all ages. We seek to bring kids and adults from different socioeconomic backgrounds together in the creative process, thus using music as a transformative tool for social change.
JAMS is happy to announce a benefit concert with three of the best local reggae bands around: Cornerstone, One2Tree and King Zero. The concert will be at SOhO on Saturday, January 29th. For tickets, please click on this link or on the flyer below.
JAMS (Jasmine’s Alternative Music School) is seeking
new board members… Seeking passionate and positive people:
JAMS provides free and low-cost access to music mentorship, instruction, songwriting workshops, jam sessions and musical production. The goal is to offer this to low-income individuals and at-risk youth as well as adults and children with special needs. We also seek to bring kids and adults from different socioeconomic backgrounds together in the creative process, thus using music as a transformative tool for social change.
Would you like to give back to your community by helping our nonprofit music organization grow? JAMS is in a period of rebirth now, and the sky is the limit. We are looking for people who are committed to helping grow our organization by actively putting in the work involved to make it happen— not only at board meetings but also between the board meetings.
Ideally, you should have experience in at least one of the following: fundraising and grant writing, budget creation and management, organizational planning (both short-term planning and long-term vision creation), legal experience and knowledge, community project development and public relations. However, if you don’t have much experience but you have the passion to help us develop JAMS, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Because our organization seeks to serve a racially diverse spectrum of low-income families, we strive for a board composition that is racially, ethnically and economically diverse as well as diverse on every other level (gender, age, ability, etc.).
