Would a Trump Victory Hold Back the Romans 1 Tidal Wave? Part 1 of 2

Would a Trump Victory Hold Back the Romans 1 Tidal Wave? Part 1 of 2
Send us a textGUEST: JAMES WHITE, Alpha and Omega MinistriesIn the opening chapter of the apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans, he describes God-rejecting mankind, who “suppress the truth in unrighteousness”, whose “foolish hearts were darkened”, who “exchanged the truth of God for the lie”, and worship themselves and their pleasures rather than the Creator.God’s judgment on these rebels is the wrath of abandonment, where God “gives them over” to plunge deeper into sin. When this occurs, wickedness explodes—heterosexual immorality becomes homosexuality immorality becomes a “depraved mind” which takes delight in and gives “hearty approval” to all manner of iniquity. The United States of America, though founded with Christian values, has descended over the decades into a Romans 1 society. What God established—marriage, morality, gender, truth, life—is now vehemently rejected. And as we near a pivotal election, half or more of the electorate will vote for the Democratic Party, the loud and proud leaders of Romans 1, to normalize and expand their sinful “freedoms”.The Republican Party, on the other hand, is trailing a decade or two behind. Who would have thought that the GOP would abandon its former commitment to protect unborn humans in the womb? Who would think they would give up the fight for the family and go silent on unnatural “marriages” and child-rearing?But moving left is what has happened on these and other issues, such as illegal immigration, spending, and globalism. Donald Trump has led the Republican Party since becoming president in 2016. Now running for reelection in 2024, he has sniffed the wind in the country and concluded that to get elected, he needs to give our Romans 1 nation more of what it wants. And yet the alternative to Trump in our only-two-viable-parties system is Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, who advocate for the ungodly and un-American ideology of Marxism. So what are Biblical Christians to think and do in this election and going forward?James White is the director of Alpha and Omega Ministries, a decades-old apologetic ministry based in Phoenix AZ and the host of the popular podcast called The Dividing Line. A skilled debater, anti-abortion advocate, seminary professor, and pastor at Apologia Church in AZ, James will join us this week and next on The Christian Worldview to discuss a wide range of issues, from how we arrived at this point in America to the compromise in the Evangelical Church to abortion to voting integrity to whether a Trump victory would hold back the Romans 1 tidal wave.We hope you gain from hearing from a sharp Christian who recognizes the reality of our moment and offers strong Biblical insight.

The Strong Delusion Over Kamala Harris
Send us a textGUEST: DARRELL HARRISON, pastor and co-host, Just Thinking podcastIt’s been an unprecedented ascent for Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee for president. She dropped out early in the 2020 Democratic primary due to low poll numbers but was then chosen by Joe Biden to be his running mate after he promised to select a woman. And then late in her unremarkable term as vice president, Harris was chosen to be the party’s nominee for president after Biden was forced out of the race due to cognitive decline.Aside from delegates at the recent Democrat National Convention, no one has directly voted for Kamala Harris to be nominee for president. No matter—half of the electorate are fully enthused at the prospect of “making history with the country’s first black, female president”.Never mind that she was considered the most leftist member when she was a U.S. Senator from California. Never mind that she fully supports the killing of unborn babies all the way up to the time of birth. In fact, Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz are the highest ranking government officials to visit an abortion center. And she checks all the rest of the left’s boxes—homosexual/transgender advocacy, illegal immigration, redistributive economic policies, pro-Palestine, and more.So how it is possible in a nation built on Christian values with individual liberties that a candidate who opposes that may very well be our next president?Darrell Harrison is on the pastoral staff Redeemer Bible Church in Gilbert, AZ and the co-host of the Just Thinking podcast. He will join us this weekend to better understand  Kamala Harris and why she garners so much support. We do this topic, not to tell you who to vote for, but to compare and contrast the candidate’s policies against the standard of God’s Word so your vote can be informed by a Biblical worldview.
The Primacy of Worship and Who/What the Political Parties Worship

The Primacy of Worship and Who/What the Political Parties Worship
Send us a textGUEST: SCOTT ANIOL, Executive VP and Editor-in-Chief G3 MinistriesThere is no more important issue and pursuit than worshipping God. It’s more important than who will be our next president, more important than world peace, more important than your health, financial security, and whatever else we treasure.Scripture makes the primacy of worship clear:  King David prayed, “Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all” (1 Chronicles 29:11).Paul wrote, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Cor 10:31).King Solomon exhorted, “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear [reverence, awe] God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person” (Ecclesiastes 12:13)Psalms, the songbook of the Bible, closes this way: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6)God created man as a worshipful being. We can see this because everyone worships someone or something. If God isn’t worshipped, a false god will be substituted—person, pleasure, possession, position, popularity, power, to name just a few.God, as Creator, Sustainer, Savior, and Sovereign over all, deserves our worship. Our peace, purpose, and pleasure in life is directly proportional to how rightly and authentically we worship the Creator. Our guest this weekend is Scott Aniol, Executive VP and Editor-in-Chief G3 Ministries. G3, which stands for “Gospel—Grace—Glory”, is a Christian organization that aims to strengthen the local church through conferences, resources, online articles, podcasts, expository preaching workshops, biblical worship workshops, and local church-based curriculum for Sunday school and small groups.” Their next major conference is Oct. 3-5 in Oklahoma on the issue of Cessationism and whether the miraculous sign gifts are for today?Scott Aniol will join us to discuss “The Primacy of Worship”. He explains in a five-part column series corresponding to each of the “five solas” of the Reformation that worship is even more important than salvation, for salvation is the entry point to proper worship of God.This program aims to be a helpful for individual Christians and also the church, for worship includes but is far more encompassing than music alone. And since it’s election season with the Democratic National Convention having just concluded in Chicago, we will discuss what is being worshipped by both parties and how to think about voting for imperfect candidates. ---------------------Let the Little Children Come by Scott AniolThe Primacy of Worship Scott Aniol’s series on the 5 Solas of WorshipScripture AloneGrace Alone in Christ AloneFaith Alone
The Insidious Ideology of Social Justice

The Insidious Ideology of Social Justice
Send us a textGUEST: JEFF KLIEWER, pastor and author, Woke-Free ChurchPaul wrote to the Colossians, “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8).It would be hard to overstate just how pervasive and destructive social justice ideology has become in our society and the church. Whether termed social justice, wokeness, colonization, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), or Critical Theory, it has metastasized everywhere—government, education, media, military, even in Christian institutions and the church. It’s based on the Marxist worldview that “oppressors” (such as white, Christian, heterosexual men) have “rigged the system” to oppress and victimize non-whites, non-Christians, women, immigrants, “indigenous peoples”, homosexuals, transgenders, and Palestinians. This is a politically and theologically left-wing ideology whose ultimate aim is to crumble Western Civilization and the Biblical principles upon which it’s based in order to transform the country and the world into what they believe will be a united, socialist utopia where they do not “acknowledge God any longer” (Romans 1:28).But instead of unity, it foments division, entitlement, and the sin of partiality. But even worse for Christians and the church, social justice prioritizes the pursuit of social issues above the Great Commission and sidetracks many Christians and churches. Our guest this weekend, pastor Jeff Kliewer, knows all too well about social justice, the term Christians are particularly susceptible to because “God is a God of justice and so pursuing social justice is a Biblical and gospel issue.” Jeff lived and ministered for over a decade in the inner city of Philadelphia and came to the conclusion that social justice policies were not only misguided but actually cause and exacerbate problems rather than provide solutions.Jeff has written a strong and insightful book titled, Woke-Free Church: For the Deliverance of the Body of Christ from Social Justice Captivity that exposes just how insidious woke ideology is. The book struck such a nerve in his own denomination, the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), that they removed his ordination.Journalist Megan Basham recently joined us to describe the Left’s infiltration into Evangelicalism in light of her bestselling book, Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda. Now Jeff Kliewer joins us to describe what it is like to stand in opposition to the social justice movement within the church.

“How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda”
Send us a textGUEST: MEGAN BASHAM, author, Shepherds for SaleJesus warned, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:15-16).False teachers don’t wear red suits and carry pitchforks. That would be too obvious. Far more effective for undermining the church, diverting believers, and hiding the gospel from unbelievers is for false teachers to hold respected positions at churches and Christian organizations and to be captivating speakers and writers. What’s really effective is when they gain popularity while appearing to hold orthodox positions only to shift over time away from orthodoxy, leading their followers away.False teachers are nothing new. The Old Testament recounts the false prophets who led Israel into compromise and sin. The New Testament describes the constant battles of Christ and the apostles to “Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.” (2 Tim. 1:13).From the very beginning, Satan relentlessly attacks the truth of God’s Word and he uses men and women to do it. Men and women who likely would never consider themselves to be false teachers but are nonetheless. “You will know them by their fruits”, meaning misinterpreting Scripture and practicing sin.Our guest this weekend is Christian reporter, Megan Basham. She is the author of a well-researched, well-documented, and illuminating new book, Shepherds for Sale—How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda. She describes how those on the political left are insidiously working to draw Evangelicals, the last remaining bulwark standing in the way of their socialist, Marxist vision, over to the Democrat side by giving large sums of money and reframing issues like climate change, race, immigration, pro-life, and homosexuality in language that appeals to Christians.None other than John MacArthur has written about Megan’s book, Shepherds for Sale: “This may just be the single most important book on modern evangelicalism in recent years.”The question is: Will Evangelicals listen and make amends? Because the courage and Biblical model to exercise discernment, contend for sound doctrine, and name the names of those leading Christians astray has been sinfully lacking and shamed out of Christians to avoid being pegged as “divisive” and “unkind”.We have the book in our online store and we highly encourage you to get informed and give a copy to your own shepherd pastor.

Road Trip to Creation Museum and Ark Encounter
Send us a textGUEST: KEN HAM, CEO and Co-Founder, Answers in GenesisWe just returned to Minnesota after a road trip to northern Kentucky near Cincinnati, Ohio to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, both of which are Bible-based, gospel-proclaiming theme parks owned and operated by Answers in Genesis.Later in this weekend’s program, Ken Ham, co-founder and CEO of Answers in Genesis, will join us to recount the history of God’s guiding hand in how these two attractions came to be and why the early chapters of Genesis are foundational to…well, everything. While on this trip, we watched in horror, like many of you, at the assassination attempt on former President Trump at a campaign event in western Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13. The God who “is sovereign over all”, including speeding bullets, chose to direct the bullet away from Trump’s head by a mere quarter inch, wounding his ear instead. Positioned in the line of fire was Corey Comperatore, a husband and father and reportedly a Christ-follower, who took a bullet and was brought home to heaven. Two others were wounded. With US Secret Service and other law enforcement officers on site, it begs the question how the 20-year-old shooter was able to climb a ladder to the rooftop of a building just 160 yards away from Trump. Even more perplexing was how security allowed Trump on stage after being suspicious of the man hours earlier and rally-goers informing security about a man with a rifle on the roof minutes before shots rang out.I can see only two explanations for how this took place: either the Secret Service agency is unbelievably incompetent or someone (or several) with the governmental agency were intentionally attempting to assassinate former President Trump. We’ll provide some reported details in the opening of the program and you can come to your own conclusion.-----------------Visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter - learn more or purchase tickets!

Teaching Biblical Doctrines to Children
Send us a textMy family and I are currently on a road trip to northern Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, both of which are owned and operated by Answers in Genesis, the ministry founded and led by Ken Ham, which boldly proclaims the authority of God’s Word and the gospel. We have been conducting interviews with Ken and several others during the visit that we are going to air next week on the program. In fact, later in today’s program, we are going to air a portion of one interview with Bryan Osborne, an author and popular speaker for Answers in Genesis that we did on site at the Ark Encounter following his presentation on the global flood detailed in Genesis 6-9.Before we get to that, we are going to air an interview our longer-time listeners may remember from back in 2016 with Michael Joens, an animator and creator of Theo, a 15-episode series dedicated to teaching children God’s Word and the gospel.Joens is a highly credentialed animator, having worked for studios such as Hanna Barbera, Filmation, Warner Brothers and Marvel Productions.Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.“What are “these words” that are to be on our hearts and taught diligently to our children?  Biblical doctrines—truths about God and how we are to live and worship Him.But how?  How can we teach biblical truths or doctrines to children? One excellent way is through an animated cartoon series called Theo.  Our guest this weekend on The Christian Worldview is Michael Joens, the creator and director of Theo, a 15-episode animated cartoon series that we highly recommend and are offering to listeners. The production and teaching of biblical doctrines in Theo is of the highest quality and we encourage you to preview and order the series for your children and grandchildren.  You will enjoy and learn too!--------------------------Related LinksTHEO - Volume 1, "God's Love" for a donation of any amount.THEO - Full 5-DVD Set for a donation of $50 or moreCreation Museum and Ark Encounter

Is Christian Nationalism the Solution to America’s Societal Decline?
Send us a textThis program is a rebroadcast from 07/01/23GUEST: SCOTT ANIOL, Professor of Pastoral Theology, Grace Bible Theological SeminaryAs we celebrate Independence Day, which commemorates the signing in 1776 of the Declaration of Independence, the founding document of our nation, when the original 13 colonies declared their autonomy from British colonial rule.John Adams was a signer of the Declaration, one of the framers of the U.S. Constitution (1789), and the second President of the United States. Likely not a born-again Christian but rather a deist (a believer in a supreme being who is uninvolved in the affairs of mankind), Adams wrote the following about the link between morality and civil society:“…should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation [pretending] towards one another…which assumes the language of justice and moderation while it is practicing iniquity and extravagance…while it is rioting in rapine [violent seizure of property] and insolence [rude behavior], this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world; because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”We are seeing John Adams’ warning prove true in America today. We are at a low point in our nation when laws are passed granting the “freedom” to kill a child anytime during the nine months of pregnancy, when the “degrading passions” of homosexuality are normalized and codified as “marriage”, when adults parade openly and lewdly down the streets in front of children, and when children are led into the sin of cross-dressing and physical mutilation in the name of “gender affirming care”.Wicked depravity is now tolerated and affirmed in our nation and the predictable results are division, confusion, chaos, violence, harm, and hatred. So what are Christians to do, who like Lot living in Sodom “felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds” (2 Peter 2:8)?Most Christians would say that our nation desperately needs to reclaim our Biblical foundations and establish laws and policies based on the truths of Christianity. But how would that take place? Is that Scripture’s call for Christians and the church to work to “Christianize” government? This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Scott Aniol, editor-in-chief of G3 Ministries and professor of pastoral theology at Grace Bible Theological Seminary, joins us to discuss “Christian Nationalism”, a term that means different things to different people. To some Christians, it means electing representatives who advocate for biblical principles in government. Other believers see it as a biblical mandate to work toward Christian rule over government and all institutions in society. While non-believers view it as religious extremists trying to institute a theocracy and oppress non-believers.Join us for a discussion on Christian Nationalism and what Bible says about Christians and government.

Highlights from The Overcomer Course for Young Adults
Send us a textOn Friday-Saturday June 21-22, nearly 30 young adults age 18-28 converged at Stone House Farm in Jordan, MN as the first class of The Overcomer Course. Some of the young adults are in the workplace, some are in school, some are in between, but all came to hear what God has said in His Word and how it applies to their lives. In eight sessions over those two days addressing the most important issues in life, such as, believing God and His gospel, trusting God’s Word as the basis for wise thinking and living, evangelism and discipleship, time and work, singleness and marriage, and the local church (with pastor Ace Davis), attendees were exhorted to love God and embrace His design on all these issues. Not surprisingly, our faithful God exceeded our plans and expectations and He alone gets all the glory! Despite lots of rain outside, God enriched all of our lives on the inside —staff, volunteers, and attendees—as we dug into God’s supernatural, timeless truths. We were also encouraged in the bonus sessions between the main sessions, which included mealtime interviews with Christian nutrition and fitness coach Haley Erickson on caring for the body, Dan and Kelly Haugland on how God restores lives and marriages, and even a short interview with my 90-year-old mother on evangelism and discipleship. It was heartening to watch the young adults connect with each over the two days, eating meals, taking walks, playing ping pong and foosball, and talking with each other. This weekend on The Christian Worldview, we’ll share some of the highlights and audio clips of the Course, as our way of thanking you for praying for and supporting this new endeavor of The Overcomer Foundation, the organization that directs The Christian Worldview Radio Program.

Empty Deceptions Vying for Post-Christian Minds
Send us a textThis brodcast was previously aired 01/13/2024.GUEST: DARRELL HARRISON, pastoral staff, Redeemer Bible Church, Gilbert, AZThere are only two foundations for thinking and living: the perfect Word of God or the flawed word of man.In running further and further away from the truth of God’s Word, our leaders and people run headlong into the fallen and foolish reasonings of man that Paul warned Christians to avoid:“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ” (Colossians. 2:8).The empty deceptions of our day are seen and felt everywhere now. When one believes the lie that white, male, heterosexual Christians are responsible for victimizing everyone else, causing every conflict and ill, flawed and discriminatory solutions like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) which actually codifies injustice and discrimination against the alleged oppressors.Christians live in this fallen world with all its ungodly philosophies and so we must informed and prepared when it confronts us in our workplace, school, church, or even with children in our home who have been taken captive.Darrell Harrison, host of the Just Thinking podcast and a member of the pastoral staff at Redeemer Bible Church in Gilbert, AZ, joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to provide deeper insight on ideologies like DEI and pejorative terms like “colonization” used toward Americans and Israelis. He will also explain how these deceptions need to be especially resisted at the door of the church.-----------------------Darrell Harrison’s podcast: Just Thinking is a long-form, expository podcast that boldly confronts cultural, social, political and theological issues through an orthodox biblical worldview.

What Does Husband Have To Do With Father?
Send us a textGUEST: BRUCE WHEATON, father of host David WheatonThis Father’s Day weekend, we are going to go back in time to 2010 to hear an interview with my own father, Bruce Wheaton. Many of you know that God welcomed my dad into heaven February 1, 2023 at age 91. Our family has joy that he is in the eternal presence of the Savior he believed, loved, and obeyed. But we miss his presence with us tremendously, for he was a beloved husband, father, and friend to not just the members of his family but to many others as well.My mom, who is 90, misses my dad most of all, which is understandable, considering they met when she was 15 and he 17 and were married for nearly 70 years. But God has given her a strong faith and a loving family to surround and help her. Her family, my siblings and grandkids, was taught and influenced greatly by my dad. So he is still strongly felt.Proverbs 20:7 says, “A righteous man who walks in his integrity—How blessed are his sons after him.” That is the certainly the case with my siblings and me.For many years, probably more than 15, my dad and/or my mom were guests on the program either on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. It seemed normal to me to talk to my dad about various issues because that’s what we did as a family in the regular course of life. So what you hear today is what we heard in our home.If you are a father, we hope you have a most blessed Father’s Day and may you, with God’s grace, continue growing into the man, husband and father that God desires you to be.--------------------Upcoming TCW Events:Overcomer Course for Young Adults, June 21-22The Overcomer Cup at Hazeltine National, Sept 16
Why Men Need God’s Word More Than Ever

Why Men Need God’s Word More Than Ever
Send us a textGUEST: ROBERT WOLGEMUTH, General Editor, CSB Men’s Daily Bible We’re coming up on the day where we annually celebrate fathers. The sad irony is that men and fathers are often blamed, marginalized, and vilified for the ills in our society. The worldview behind the resentment of men is one that rejects God’s design for male leadership, particularly in the home and church. For their part, too many men have allowed themselves to become feminized and passive in the way they think, act, and dress. Instead of displaying traits of biblical manhood, like courage, decision-making, productivity, integrity, and purity—too often men are glad to sit back, watch the game, and have women fill their God-given role. The only way back from this departure is for men to be saved and sanctified. The inner man must change for the outer man to change. But there is no “easy button” for this—regeneration requires repentance and faith, sanctification requires active obedience to the Word and engagement in the local church.God does not leave men—or anyone—without hope. God promises to save all who call on Him (Romans 10:13) and to set apart for His use all who humble themselves before Him (1 Peter 5:6).In His inspired, inerrant, infallible, immutable, and authoritative Word, God provides the truth men need. But just getting a Bible is the start—the day-by-day priority of reading, studying, and praying through it is the essential discipline that every man needs.A new Men’s Daily Bible has just released from Holman Bibles, the oldest publisher of Bibles in North America. The Men’s Daily Bible isn’t a study Bible per se but it contains lots of added features for men:Book introductions to connect all 66 books of the BibleOver 50 “Insight for Life” articles from Christian leaders such as Kevin DeYoung, Steve Lawson, Albert Mohler, Stephen Nichols, the late R.C. Sproul, and Tim Challies260 “Insight for the Day” devotionals to prepare men to face the day95 “Questions For Men” with answers for discussionOur host, David Wheaton, contributed one of the short articles for this Bible.  The article is at the beginning of the Bible, before Genesis 1, entitled “Embracing a Christian Worldview”.Robert Wolgemuth, the general editor of the Men’s Daily Bible, former president of Thomas Nelson Publishers, and longtime noted literary agent joins us this weekend to discuss how God’s Word changed his life, and his prayer that it does the same for many other men.If the last name Wolgemuth rings a bell, Robert’s wife is Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth, the host Revive Our Hearts radio program. There’s a very compelling story of loss and God’s providence in bringing them together…and we’ll get to that this weekend as well.--------------------------Introducing the Men’s Daily Bible [video]Men’s Daily Bible (Hardcover) for a donation of any amount.Men’s Daily Bible Leathertouch on sale for $44.99, just in time for Father’s DayOrders made by Tues. Will Southern Baptists Set Down the “Law” in 2024?
Send us a textGuest: Tom Ascol, Senior Pastor, Grace Baptist Church (Cape Coral, FL)The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is the largest Protestant church denomination in North America, with six seminaries, 47,000 churches, 13 million church members, and entities like the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), Lifeway Christian Resources, the North American Mission Board (NAMB), and more. Some of the most influential churches and pastors in America are part of the SBC. SBC churches are expected to give to the Cooperative Program (CP), which uses the funds for all their various entities and endeavors. In 2023, the CP budget was nearly $200M.Any organization this size with this much influence and funding is going to be a battlefield of agendas. The SBC was once moving to the left theologically but made a “conservative resurgence” in the 1980s. In recent years, the SBC has becoming wobbly on issues related to social justice, Critical Race Theory, female pastors, and more.At stake at this year’s upcoming SBC Annual Meeting June 9-12 in Indianapolis is a proposed amendment to the SBC constitution, called the “Law Amendment” (named after Mike Law, the VA pastor who submitted it), that SBC cooperating churches do “not affirm, appoint, or employ a woman as a pastor of any kind.”Many SBC churches currently do employ female pastors in clear violation of God’s Word that only men of high character be pastors and elders. We’ll read those passages during the program.Tom Ascol, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral, FL and president of Founders Ministries, joins us for the fifth year running to discuss issues within the Southern Baptist Convention that have impact across broader Christianity.

How Understanding God Helps You Understand Our Chaotic World [rebroadcast from 09/04/2021]
Send us a textGUEST: STEVEN LAWSON, author, Show Me Your GloryPsalm 46 starts out this way: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change…”The earth is changing. A strong delusion has bewitched the leaders and peoples of this world. There are authoritarian, baseless mandates and discrimination (regarding vaccines, masks, lockdowns) over a virus that kills an infinitesimally small percentage of those who contract it.The greatest superpower in the world spends billions of dollars and thousands of lives over 20 years in Afghanistan, only to pull out before removing its own citizens, securing its own military equipment, as a terrorist organization takes over in a matter of days.Political leadership is so sinful that “the right” to kill pre-born children is a central plank of the Democratic Party, along with affirming sexual and gender perversity. The list could go on—bringing in millions of unvetted immigrants as a reliable voting bloc, paying able workers to not work, lying that America runs on white supremacy. The world feels like its spinning out of control. So what’s a Christian to do? Answer: Focus on the most important thing—God and His perfect and powerful attributes.Dr. Steven Lawson is our guest this weekend on The Christian Worldview. He has been a pastor for 34 years, preaches and teaches around the world, is the president of One Passion Ministries (a ministry designed to bring about biblical reformation in the church today), and the author of many books, including the one we will discuss, Show Me Your Glory: Understanding the Majestic Splendor of God.For when you understand God and His attributes, you will understand and be at peace within the world He controls.Additional Resources:The Bible Study with Dr. Steven Lawson: Past Studies or LIVE on FacebookOne Passion Ministries

Scouts' Deconstruction Mirroring America's Devolution
Send us a textGUEST: ROBERT KNIGHT, columnist, The Washington TimesThe deconstruction of the organization formerly known as the Boy Scouts (now called the genderless “Scouting America”) is a microcosm—“a situation regarded as encapsulating in miniature the characteristic qualities or features of something much larger”—of what is taking place in broader American society. What is that? A headlong descent into depravity straight out of Romans 1: “And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil;” Romans 1:28-29Robert Knight, The Washington Times columnist and our guest this weekend, writes in his latest column that “More than 80,000 men claim they were sexually abused when they were in the Boy Scouts…and this past March agreed to a $2.4 billion settlement to pay thousands of claims.”The sane response to this horrific abuse would be to greatly strengthen protocol for Scout leaders’ interaction with boys. Instead, the Boy Scouts approved homosexual men to be leaders of boys. The Boy Scouts were once a respected organization that trained boys to be men, in character, in skills, in service. The Scout oath was and still is (but now in lip service only)…“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”What went wrong with the Boy Scouts that has also gone wrong in broader American society? How can the church and Christian organizations avoid being lured into this deconstruction? Join us as Robert Knight, a former Eagle Scout, explains the sinful compromises that have turned this once respected organization into a cautionary tale of the evils of the woke religion.-------------------------------Related Article:Scouts pay dearly for ‘wokeness,’ double down anyway – May 14, 2024You can sign up to receive Robert Knight’s free weekly column by emailing him: RobertKnight4@gmail.comRelated Programs:How the Tactics that Sank the Boy Scouts Are Now Aimed at the Church – Feb 29, 2020What Happened to the Boy Scouts and Why It Matters? – March 26, 2018

Send us a textGUEST: MARY JANE WHEATON, David’s MomGod designed marriage to be between one man and one woman for life, for husband and wife to love each other, embrace mutually beneficial roles, and raise children to love and obey God. The family is the protective nest, a place of intended peace, that results in Godly individuals and thus God-fearing societies. If one had to state just one reason why our nation is awash in rampant dysfunction, false ideologies, violence, incarceration, drug use, sexual immorality, and all manner of other societal ills, the breakdown of the family would be at the top of the list. Divorce, children being raise by single parents, and hostility between members of the family are all-too-common today.Because the family is so important to God, it is under constant assault by Satan. America has changed so much over the last 60+ years, mostly in God-dishonoring ways. My 90-year-old mother has lived through this great cultural change. She and my dad, who went to be with His Savior and Lord last year, were blessed to be saved by God in their mid-20s. They took the Word of God seriously as it pertains to marriage, parenting, and discipleship. The good news is that in a shifting culture, Christians can thrive, whether married or single. My Mom joins us this Mother’s Day weekend to describe what it was like to live through a time of great cultural change all the while standing firm on the truth of God’s Word.--------------------------------LOOKING FOR A GRADUATION GIFT?University of Destruction by David WheatonHelp the student in your life be an Overcomer!  This book includes:The three Pillars of Peril students face in college: Sex, Drugs/Alcohol, and Humanism (secular or religious);A time-tested game plan for victory over these pitfalls based on improving your spiritual G.P.A.;The important difference between professing and possessing Christians;Practical advice on dating, friends, and choosing the right college; How to get back on course if you have gone astray.176 pgs, softcover
