The Truth Behind Lucky
Alice Sebold is best known for her best selling novel, The Lovely Bones, but that wasn't her first book. A few years before, Alice wrote a memoir titled Lucky that chronicled a brutal rape she experienced in 1981, when she was 18. She wrote about identifying the man that raped her, testifying against him in court, and dealing with the trauma of being raped. In 2019, the film rights to Lucky were purchased and the project was green lit. But as producer Tim Mucciante  read through the script and the memoir, he started seeing discrepancies that didn't sit right with him, especially when it came to the conviction of the rapist, Anthony Broadwater.Sources: ArticlesThe New York Times | He Was Convicted of Raping Alice Sebold. The Survival Story of Tania Head
In 2003, the survivors of the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001 were still attempting to recover from the trauma they endured that day. One of the only places to go for support was a Yahoo chat room for 9/11 survivors and family members that lost loved ones in the attacks. One of the survivors in the group, Tania Head, saw the need for survivors to have their own group, one where they could talk freely about the details of that horrific day without the fear of offending anyone. She created a group just for survivors, and it was then that she finally felt comfortable sharing her own story. Tania had been on the 96th floor of the South Tower the day the planes hit, and her journey to survival was so incredible, so harrowing, that it left the others in the group at a loss for words. They admired her so much for what she'd gone through, and the strength she showed. Eventually, Tania helped to form the World Trade Center Survivors Network, and was elected president. She gave guided tours of ground zero, where she would share her story with visitors. No one knew that Tania Head was hiding a secret. The Man Who Ruined HalloweenThe Murder of Annie Le
Annie Le disappeared on September 8, 2009, 5 days before she was to marry her college sweetheart. She left her apartment that morning to head to the Yale campus where she was doing research as part of work towards a doctorate in Pharmacology, but when she never arrived home that night, her worried roommate called the police. Police conducted a search and were able to find Annie on the surveillance cameras walking into the research lab, but they couldn't find her anywhere on the cameras leaving the building, and she wasn't found inside the building. It was like Annie Le had simply vanished. The Mighty Michael MalloyCyberstalker Part 2 - The Disappearance of Cari FarverCyberstalker Part 1 - The Disappearance of Cari FarverThe Mysterious Disappearance of Angela Green
Angela Green was 51 when she disappeared in 2019.  Her husband, Geoff Green, initially had a very odd explanation for Angela's disappearance. He told their 19 year old daughter, Ellie, that he'd been worried about Angela's mental state, and he'd arranged it so a psychiatric hospital would take Angela from a grocery store parking lot and commit her to their facilities. He said there was a struggle when they took her, and he didn't want Ellie to visit for her own safety. He wouldn't even tell her where the hospital is . Several days later, Geoff broke the news to Ellie - he'd gotten a call from the hospital telling him that Angela had died of a stroke in their care. Geoff said he paid a man from the hospital to cremate her and return her in an urn, which was at his house. He told Ellie they were not going to have a funeral, and he asked her not to tell Angela's family she was dead. Only, there's not a record of Angela's death anywhere in the United States.
