Our Editor's Take

Undisclosed is a true crime podcast that reexamines controversial legal rulings. It's about what happens when new evidence emerges after the case is over. Thus, the title.

Rabia Chaudry and Ellyn Marsh are the Undisclosed team. Together, they examine wrongful convictions. Listeners will hear the stories of innocent people labeled guilty for crimes they didn't commit.

The Undisclosed podcast has discussed 27 separate cases over the seven seasons of the show. This makes it one of the longest-running true crime podcasts. The program started with "The State v. Adnan Syed" in the first season. How the Undisclosed team handled that story set the standard for the show. With Chaudry's legal background as an attorney, she was able to offer more context into Syed's case. She also published a book about him in 2016. Adnan's Story: The Search for Truth and Justice After Serial went on to become a New York Times best seller.

The case against Syed was not the only example of the miscarriage of justice. There were plenty of other instances with similar unfortunate outcomes. Further examples of this are evident in the cases of Darrell Ewing, Greg Lance, and Jason Carroll. Listeners will find these stories fascinating.

Undisclosed has lots of extra content and bonus episodes. The entire archive is available to enjoy now. There are no longer any new episodes in this podcast, though. Fans of this podcast may also like Rabia and Ellyn Solve the Case. That's the host of another true crime show, which started in 2022.
