Taking kids’ education outside, with Lauren MacLean, teacher and children’s book author

Get Outside With Kids

Jun 2 2022 • 28 mins

We are joined by Lauren MacLean to talk about taking school outside, and how we can inspire a love for outdoor learning in kids of all ages.

This episode also contains our favourite ever example of a time when things did NOT go according to plan when getting outside with kids… trust us, you’ll have to tune in to believe this one, it’s a doozy!

Lauren MacLean is a mentoring support teacher and host of the Mentoring Nature Connections podcast where she interviews educators from across North America on their outdoor learning experiences.  She is also the author of the children’s picture book, Me and My Sit Spot, which helps introduce this nature routine to young kids and their families. On the weekends, you will often find her and her two young toddlers exploring in their forest playground.
