Episode 5 - Goodreads | The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life | Part 2
Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today's 5th episode will talk about the second half of a book that I personally love a lot, called " The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life ". Its main focus is self-growth, but it gets rid of the traditional concept of embracing positive thinking in the past, and uses a very straightforward dialogue to tell us that only by discarding incorrect expectations, honestly facing ourselves, and accepting all of ourselves, can we live freely. As there have been numerous summaries of the book, I will summaries the 6 highlights of the book that impressed me the most: 1. Be careful about behaviors that will feel good in the short term, and be more careful not to get addicted to yourself 2. Self-worth comes from the interpretation of one's own negative encounters 3. Responsible: Take responsibility for everything that happens to you, even if it's someone else's fault 4. Certainty: Certainty are the enemies of growth, and "uncertainty" allows us to focus on self-growth and self-exploration, and to abandon all established stereotypes 5. Do something, then the answer will follow 6. Freedom: The truly meaningful "freedom" is not about having unlimited choices, but about consciously choosing to have profound experiences within a limited range. Above is today's Goodreads of "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life " part 2. Episode 3 - Goodreads | Time and how to spend it: the 7 rules for richer, happier days |

Episode 3 - Goodreads | Time and how to spend it: the 7 rules for richer, happier days |
Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today's third episode is about a book that I find helpful, about how to be good at time and create happy experiences. Goodreads: Time and how to spend it: the 7 rules for richer, happier days Author: James Wallman The author uses the word " STORIES " to help us memorize these 7 lists. Our lives are faced with choices all the time, and how to spend our time on choices that can lead to a happy experience, the STORIES list can be used to review and help us make decisions: 1. Story: Can the experience to be done be a good story? Would you like to hear stories like this from others? 2. Transformation: Will the experiences to be done cause you to change or progress? For example, learning new skills has changed more than watching TV. Transformation is also an important key to our sense of accomplishment. 3. Outside & Offline: Research points out that activities outdoors and off-line can directly improve people's mood. It's usually more enjoyable to go out than to stay home; and to minimize and over-create an image on social media, because it will make us lose the original purpose of life. 4. Relationships: You can choose the experience of being close to others. Relationships are an important source of happiness. 5. Intensity: Examine whether the intensity of the experience is sufficient. Engaging in experiences that are slightly above or near the limits of one's abilities is prone to “Flow”. 6. Extraordinary: Whether the experience to be done is special enough, the beginning of an experience, as well as the happiest moment, and the final ending, are important to our happy experience. 7. Status & Significance: The author emphasizes how important it is for the experience of happiness to be both 'beneficial to oneself and to others', as well as being healthy. Above is today's Goodreads about making good of time and creating happy experiences. Episode 2- Goodreads | Lifespan | Can We Reverse Aging?
Hi there, I'm Lisa Chang and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today's second episode is about a book that I think is very important, it's about ageing and longevity. The book is called [ Lifespan: Why We Age, and Why We Don't Have To ] and is due out in 2019. The authors are David Sinclair, Professor of Genetics and Co-Director of the Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School, and Matthew LaPlante, Professor of Journalism at Utah State University. The book Lifespan can be divided into 3 parts. 1. Part 1 explains the biological background of ageing. The authors argue that ageing is actually a loss of information in our epigenome. This theory implies that we may be able to slow down the process of ageing or ultimately stop it altogether. 2. Part 2 discusses current research and therapeutic approaches. The authors suggest that our 'longevity gene' can be activated by calorie restriction, fasting, exercise and cold exposure, and that some of the associated medications may become part of future anti-ageing treatments. 3. Part 3 discusses the implications of longevity for the future of humanity. The book can be summarized in five key points: 1. Ageing is treatable: it is not inevitable. 2. The biological cause of ageing is the loss of information in the epigenome. Fixing such information deficits can help us fight ageing. 3. Calorie restriction or fasting can help us to live longer. 4. Physical activity is a positive stressor that activates the longevity gene, so it is important to exercise more. 5. Temperatures outside the comfort zone can also provide longevity benefits, such as short cold exposures or saunas. A number of possible future agents or molecules that could activate longevity are also described. For example, short-term administration of rapamycin can inhibit mTOR and prolong life in small experimental animals. AMPK can be activated with the diabetes drug metformin, which significantly reduces the risk of cancer. Finally, anti-ageing is achieved by boosting the function of sirtuins with NAD precursors such as NMN or NR. These are the highlights of today's Goodreads on ageing and longevity. Episode 1- Managing your network: 'Save it for the worthy'

Episode 1- Managing your network: 'Save it for the worthy'
Hi there, I'm Lisa Chang and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. On this channel I would like to share with you my life, what I find interesting in science, health information and the wisdom that has helped me to grow. I hope that whenever you listen to the title track later, you will feel the comfort of seeing an old friend. In today's first episode, I will talk to you about a lighter topic, socializing and friendship. 1. Being alone is an ability that includes the ability to take care of oneself and the psychological quality of being able to enjoy silence, and is a prerequisite for loving oneself. 2. Relationships should be left to the "worthy". The maintenance of relationships begins to subtract with time. If friends don't share a common language or values in the moment, every second they spend together will be a drain. To manage relationships, you should save your time for those who matter. 3. There are three types of friends you should not keep: the first is a friend who is not happy for your happiness, the second is a friend who is always self-centered, and the third is a friend who is full of negative energy. 4. Honestly examine whether you fall into one of these 3 categories of friends that you should not have. When you observe others, you are also observing yourself, and solving your own problems is solving your interpersonal problems. 5. Friends who are ambiguous can cause us to spend more time observing or thinking about their true thoughts or motives, which can be time-consuming and often does not lead to clear answers. The most straightforward answer is to ask your own intuition. If your instincts tell you that this person is probably not happy for your well-being, they are probably not the kind of person you would want to keep as a close friend. This is what we are discussing today on the subject of social relationships and friendships. If you would like to talk to me, please feel free to write to me or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. lisawannatalk@gmail.com (^_^) support me or buy me a coffee:  https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk
