Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.
Today's third episode is about a book that I find helpful, about how to be good at time and create happy experiences.
Goodreads: Time and how to spend it: the 7 rules for richer, happier days
Author: James Wallman
The author uses the word " STORIES " to help us memorize these 7 lists.
Our lives are faced with choices all the time, and how to spend our time on choices that can lead to a happy experience, the STORIES list can be used to review and help us make decisions:
1. Story: Can the experience to be done be a good story? Would you like to hear stories like this from others?
2. Transformation: Will the experiences to be done cause you to change or progress? For example, learning new skills has changed more than watching TV. Transformation is also an important key to our sense of accomplishment.
3. Outside & Offline: Research points out that activities outdoors and off-line can directly improve people's mood. It's usually more enjoyable to go out than to stay home; and to minimize and over-create an image on social media, because it will make us lose the original purpose of life.
4. Relationships: You can choose the experience of being close to others. Relationships are an important source of happiness.
5. Intensity: Examine whether the intensity of the experience is sufficient. Engaging in experiences that are slightly above or near the limits of one's abilities is prone to “Flow”.
6. Extraordinary: Whether the experience to be done is special enough, the beginning of an experience, as well as the happiest moment, and the final ending, are important to our happy experience.
7. Status & Significance: The author emphasizes how important it is for the experience of happiness to be both 'beneficial to oneself and to others', as well as being healthy.
Above is today's Goodreads about making good of time and creating happy experiences.
