Sludge asks Perry to join him in his plot for revenge. Perry rejects him and barely escapes. He ends up in the forest and dozes off, dreaming of his seventh birthday in San Francisco. When he awakens he is still in San Francisco. He realizes he too has power in Absentia. Sludge appears and gives Perry one final chance. Perry snatches Sludge’s magical glasses off of his face, sends the signal back to San Francisco, and runs for it, a now weakened Sludge in hot pursuit.
