In this podcast episode we tell you all about History Alive – East Anglia’s premier re-enactment event. History, quite literally, comes to life and you can immerse yourself into centuries gone by! History Alive takes place at Stonham Barns Park on Saturday and Sunday 26 and 27 June 2021.

Everyone is invited to visit History Alive and immerse themselves  in the sights, sounds and smells of times gone by.

What to expect:

Thrilling combat displays in our show arena
Living History encampments and villages
'Olde' shops. forges and stalls activities
Cooking and jewelry making
Dark age medicine and magic
Tribal food and drink
Crafting skills with armour, weaponry and old coins
Historical Music performances

From Viking and Saxon warriors to American settlers, WW2 German infantry and our much loved Homeguard - experience history over 12 centuries.

There will be lots of different re-enactment groups from various periods in time, providing complete living history experiences:

·         Hoplite Association Living History (Ancient Greeks),

·         Herigas Hundas (Dark Age Saxons),

·         Ormsgard (Dark Age Saxons),

·         Wuffa (Dark Age Vikings),

·          Colchester Living History Society (Medieval),

·         Two Apothercaries (War of The Roses),

·         Southern Skirmish – Soscans (American Civil War),

·         Spearfish Creek (19th Century American Settlers),

·         La Columna (Spanish Civil War),

·         WW2 ‘Over There’ – (US Infantry WW2),

·         Das Heer – (WW2 German Infantry),

·         Cavalry – (Rebel Reenactment)

Travel back in time for a Fantastic Family Day Out!! All the usual facilities will be open at Stonham Barns Park too including our retail village, amusements for kids, food stalls, cafes and licenced bar. Dogs are welcome (on a short lead) but please note there will be weapon firing and loud noises at times.

Event Entry Information:

  • Event is on Saturday and Sunday 26 and 27 June 2021
  • Gates open at 10am and close at 4 pm
  • Tickets can be bought in advance or paid for at the gates – prices are £10 per person but if you are under 12 years old you can come in for free!
