Nashville: Ken Valdez and Brei Carter S04EP11
On this episode of Roger The Wild Child Show: Nashville, we are joined by singer/songwriter Ken Valdez and country music artist, Brei Carter!  Also, Callum Kerr returns as we discuss the weekly recap of Fox’s new hit series, Monarch!KEN VALDEZKen Valdez returns with a fire breathing rock record entitled Saints And Sinners, named after a former rough and tumble roadhouse in northern New Mexico where Valdez was born and raised. While this guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer fuses elements of blues, rock, funk and Latin music to create a sound all his own, he kicked things up a notch this time out. Valdez has stated the record is “…deep and personal but a fun and wild ride”. While Saints And Sinners covers new territory across an already broad but expanding musical landscape, the sound is unmistakably, undeniably Ken Valdez. Being no stranger to the road, Valdez is back on tour including dates with the iconic ZZ Top and prestigious festivals like the Bayfront Blues Festival to name a few. There is no question, Ken Valdez is back! The outlaw rides again!BREI CARTER Emerging crossover country and southern pop recording artist Brei Carter is proof that sometimes faith, patience and time pays off. Growing up in Monroe, Louisiana with a solid, southern upbringing, Brei’s family raised her on several authentic southern staples: the Bible, Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church’s choir, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Aretha Franklin, and no shortage of familial love and devotion. However, before she became the dynamic and vivacious country singer she is today, Brei was busy earning a Bachelors in Business from University of Louisiana in Monroe, a Masters in International Relations from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Theology from New Foundation Theological Seminary. She is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, where she served as an enlisted soldier and as an officer. Having moved to Nashville soon thereafter, Brei has quickly established herself in the songwriters community as a smooth and sometimes edgy songstress who melds country, soul and southern pop into one fused style. Her first single at country radio “Gave Him A Girl” was immediately recognized as “cute and catchy” by country music journalist and historian Robert K. Oermann in his weekly DISClaimer review column for Music Row Magazine, where it eventually charted up to #71. With a growing catalog of new music, including her debut album 'Brand New Country,' slated for a September 16 release, this young singer-songwriter is a welcome addition to the emerging new styles of the country music community.******Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville is streamed live every Sunday night 8pm ET/ 5pm PT on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Nashville: Callum Kerr of "Monarch" on Fox and KC Johns S04EP09
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville, we are joined by actor, Callum Kerr, of the new series on Fox "Monarch" and Nashville recording artist, KC Johns!CALLUM KERRCallum Kerr is an actor/musician originally from Edinburgh, Scotland. After moving to Texas at 17, Callum has been splitting his time between Austin and London until recently, when he moved to Nashville. You can see Callum in the upcoming country music series Monarch (Fox), where he’ll play country music singer Wade Stellings. Callum is also currently working on releasing music here in Nashville.KC JOHNSWith powerhouse pipes that take you on a whiskey-soaked jaunt to your favorite honky-tonk in the absolute best way possible, KC Johns’ music is as infectious and dynamic as she is. Think Miranda Lambert meets Sheryl Crow with a touch of Brandi Carlisle, and you’ve got an artist with a voice all her own, tied tight around songs that make you feel like you’ve known her forever. With deep roots in the Blues capital of the world, KC grew up in Memphis, where she was baptized in soul and fell hard for the stage, the spotlight, and songs that make the world go ’round.Having discovered her stage legs young, KC jumped feet-first into this business called music, performing everywhere from Dollywood, where she was featured in Dolly Parton’s “Christmas Coat of Many Colors,” to cruise ships around the world. After performing in ports throughout the Atlantic, the Caribbean, and everywhere in between, she made her way up the mainstream music ladder, opening for artists like Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Randy Houser, and Trailer Choir.2022 was the continuation of her page-turner of a story, starting with the January release of a new single and video, “Confused,” co-written with Timme Angsten and Tim Baumgartner and produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer and songwriter Billy Smiley (WhiteHeart, Johnny Cash, and Petra). “Confused” follows her popular 2021 single release, “Whiskey Break,” which was featured in a nationally distributed documentary about the legendary venue, the Gorge, where nearly every major touring artist has played for the last 50 years. “Confused” made its way on to radio playlists in a growing list of markets across the country, cracked Nashville’s Music Row charts and climbed well over 100 spots up the respected rungs of the influential industry ranking.2022 has already seen the digital release of KC’s 2021 full album, Thunder, recorded at the legendary Sound Kitchen in Franklin, Tennessee. The digital release features three songs previously released only on the vinyl version of Thunder plus KC’s brand-new recording of “Desperado,” best known for being recorded by legends Linda Ronstadt and the Eagles. The collection is a result of an artist who knows who she is, what she wants to say, and the best way to say it.KC Johns’ new single release, “FAMOUS,” touches the heart of why she sings. For KC, this song immediately brought her fans to mind. This wasn’t a song about romance for KC. It’s about the passionate faces in the audience every night. It is an anthem to the people who show up, support, download, listen and love KC and her music. The song is KC’s message to them – “You make me feel famous!”******Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville is streamed live every Sunday night 8pm ET/ 5pm PT on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Hollyweird: Tony Moore and Stormin' Norman Voss S04EP04
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville, we are joined by original keyboardist of Iron Maiden  and Cutting Crew, Tony Moore and Bassist for Bret Michaels Band, Stormin' Norman Voss!TONY MOORETony’s musical career began when he moved from his hometown of Bristol to London after answering an advert in a music magazine for an early lineup of the group, IRON MAIDEN, where he took on the role of keyboard/synth player. The band were unknown at that point and Tony worked and rehearsed with them for some time until, after playing their first live show together, he felt keyboards didn’t really work in the band and decided to leave. After quitting Iron Maiden, Tony teamed up with Brian James (from The Damned) to form a group called Tanz Der Youth, recording one single called “I’m Sorry  I’m Sorry” for Radar Records (home of Elvis Costello). Although a short-lived line-up, the band toured opening for The Stranglers, and Black Sabbath as well as being at the forefront of the New Wave movement in London where they were also championed by the legendary John Peel. In the early 80’s, Tony formed a band as a vehicle for his singing and songwriting talents, called Radio Java. He signed to Carrerre Records and they made an album at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. From that album, they scored an airplay hit in Holland at Xmas 1983 with a song called FOOL. In the Mid 80’s Tony joined the band CUTTING CREW (“I just died in your arms tonight”). With the band, he toured the world including playing massive US shows opening for Huey Lewis, Starship, and the Bangles as well as doing many headline gigs. They were the first Western band to play to an audience allowed to dance and stand up in Taiwan, and almost caused a riot amongst the 60,000 inside as well as the tens of thousands who couldn’t get in. Checkout the rest of his bio at... Nashville: Wes Shipp and Noelle Toland S04EP03
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville, we are joined by musician, Wes Shipp and singer/songwriter, Noelle Tolland!WES SHIPPWes Shipp was born in Crystal River, Florida on August 3, 1992. Wes started his music career traveling the country and playing on various street corners. After struggling with drug addiction and being homeless for years, Wes decided that it was time to become serious about his music career.  Wes was able to get clean from drugs and push forward. In 2019, Wes was discovered outside of a Wal-Mart in Little Rock, Arkansas where he was recorded playing Riley Green’s song, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.” After the individual recorded the video, he proceeded to upload it to Facebook. Overnight the video went viral and received over 400K views. It was then that Wes was noticed by people within the music industry.Wes released his first song in May 2021 called “My Old Man.” Wes wrote this heartfelt song about his dad, who ironically had a heart attack 4 days after it was written, but is thankfully doing well today. The song quickly grabbed the attention of many of his fans and after realizing the impact the song had on people Wes said, “This is only the beginning.”NOELLE TOLANDNashville based singer-songwriter Noelle Toland wants to modernize and personalize old-school country music. While many assume the genre’s audience is limited exclusively to the South, Toland, who hails from 2,000-person town North Plains, Oregon is proof that that simply isn’t true. “We tailgated, horsed around on farms, and loved the heartbreak behind the stories we grew up listening to," reflects Toland, who identifies wholeheartedly with the genre. By returning to her roots and revisiting the music of her youth, Toland created the unique alchemy that is the 2021 EP “The Sun Will Rise.” The four-song EP, recorded at the famed RCA Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and produced by the talented Chris Condon, is a blend of 90’s country and seductive soul music. It captures the earthiness and electricity of classic country music with staple instruments like pedal steel and contributions from legends like guitarist Steve Cropper, founding member of the Stax Records house band and Booker T. and the M.G.’s. Toland is over the moon to have such inspirational collaborators, whom she grew up listening to, and is grateful for the opportunity to make this 90’s country influenced record, which is a tribute to beloved artists like Trisha Yearwood and Faith Hill. “Hopefully this record, which I’ve long envisioned, inspires people to take chances, be bold, and place bets on themselves,” she explains, “because that is the only thing that has gotten me through the ups and downs.” At a time when the world is in a constant state of fear, Toland’s ease when it comes to surfing the wave of life is exactly what others need to hear.*******Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville is streamed live every Sunday night 8pm ET/ 5pm PT on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Branded as the ultimate ‘All American Girl’ by Scenes Media, Howie unapologetically embodies the untamed tradition that country music was built on, and she’s hellbent on bringing her own grit to the honky tonk. Not many can say they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Carrie Underwood, and Howie is one of even fewer who can say they were handpicked to do so at the age of 5; while other kids were learning how to ride a bike, she was teaching people to expect the unexpected whenever they hear the name Payton Howie. Her music has been highlighted by leaders in the industry, including “Never Go Home” featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Country: Best of 2021 and Country Rock playlists, and “Country Before Me” featured by COWGIRL Magazine and CMT. On the verge of releasing her debut EP, ‘Youngblood,’ Payton Howie is prepared to scorch country music with a brand that’s hers alone.

Justin Love and Bailey Marie S03EP20
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show, we are joined by singer/songwriters Justin Love and Bailey Marie!JUSTIN LOVEWith his clean, catchy, and country-driven melodies, indie country singer/songwriter Justin Love has a way of crafting the perfect mix of commercially driven sounds with melancholic lyrics, making him an on-the-rise contributor to country music’s indie sub-culture.Love grew up as a youth pastor’s son, learning to perform beside his family at their hometown church in Waco, Texas. He harmonized on worship songs alongside his sisters when he was as young as 5 years old, but he truly found his calling when he was 11. After earning an associate’s degree in commercial music from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, Love intended to pursue a four-year degree from the University of North Texas; however, he was persuaded by his professors, who instructed him to go to Nashville.Shortly thereafter, he wrote his first country song, “Baby I Still Do,” and hasn’t looked back. As a writer and multi-instrumentalist, Love continues to develop his craft by drawing from the musical influences of Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Jessie Lee, Dan + Shay, Ryan Hurd.Being a part of country music’s indie subculture, Love has successfully learned to thrive and differentiate himself within a melting pot of talent that spans across all genres. “You’re trying so hard to not be background noise,” said Love. “You get on stage and you’re trying your hardest to captivate an audience, but I’ve figured out that it’s not about impressions – it’s about impacts.” His third single “I WANNA” was released on July 16th 2020 and is said to be one of his game changing songs in both his music and his sound. It also won him judges pick in the Global Rising Song contest out of 23 songwriters with an outstanding score 915 of 1,000 points by judges votes. The song was written with his good time friend and phenomenal co-writer Troy Castellano.Despite the chaos of current situations with covid-19, Justin continues to write songs and perform all over Nashville at rounds as well as a few corporate events from time to time. His current single “Went Looking For Me” has already been a gold pick winner and runner up in a few songwriting contests, making him a go-to for co-writing, however he does not take all the credit. “My songs are only as amazing as the people I get to write with”, says Love to let others know it’s an amazing team effort when he is in the room with his co-writers. He is currently in production for his next single “FEELS” which should be released in the spring of July of 2022..BAILEY MARIEBailey Marie is a singer, songwriter and actor from North Carolina. So what do you do if you are an emerging female country artist in Nashville, and also happen to be the granddaughter of musical icon, Willie Nelson? You hook up with an independent producer and veteran of the rock/punk scene, write some songs that are part Loretta Lynn, part Cheap Trick, and form the Raelyn Nelson Band. "I don't really have any desire to be a  'solo-artist'. Everyone in my family who plays music has always placed a lot of importance on band chemistry, on stage, off stage and in the studio. Our band can almost read each other's minds. Why would I mess with that? We try to keep it simple: Write songs we like, record them, make a video, then go out and play them for people."- Raelyn NelsonOLIVIA FAYEOlivia Faye is a country/pop singer/songwriter and actress who hails from Murray, Kentucky. Growing up in the square mile town of East Rochester, NY, she began writing songs, producing and performing her original music as a young teen before she made the move to Nashville, TN in 2016. Alyssa has an authentically unique style that blends traditional country instrumentation with modern pop production, winning over fans of all genres. Her clever lyrics, impressive musicianship, and smooth vocals transcend across genre lines proving her to be multifaceted and a truly prolific writer. In addition to producing her own music, she has produced tracks for songwriters and artists around the world and earned her degree in Audio Engineering. Known for her energetic and engaging live shows, Trahan has shared the stage with the likes of Maddie & Tae, Randy Houser, Chase Rice, Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker, Sara Evans, Josh Turner, Runaway June, and dozens more plus made several festival appearances, including a few headlining spots. Her music has also been featured in many films, commercials, and TV shows including The Jimmy Kimmel Show and The Young and The Restless.    Alyssa has released many artist projects independently and has built quite the following. She has over 250K followers on social media platforms, over 1 million streams and views on streaming platforms and YouTube plus a fast-growing and loyal fan base who named themselves the Trafam. It’s no wonder her newest album, “Baby Blues & Stilettos”, debuted in the top ten on the iTunes Country Album Charts and received over 300K first week streams. This would be impressive for any independent artist, but is especially so considering Alyssa produced the album herself during the shutdown of 2020, is a writer on every song, and played over 90% of the instruments on the record. As American Songwriter put it, “It’s not that Alyssa Trahan wants to take over country music. Just know that if it ever comes to that, Trahan is a woman who can literally run the show.”TREY CALLOWAY Trey Calloway is a singer-songwriter born and raised in North Carolina. The son of a preacher man, Trey grew up singing in church and was a seasoned performer by the age of 10. Although southern and contemporary gospel were his first musical loves, he was instantly mesmerized by the sounds of country music after hearing a Garth Brooks Greatest Hits album his parents bought for him. A deep understanding and passion for the rocking, boot stomping, country music of artists such as Garth, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, and Travis Tritt began to grow within him. Trey began writing songs, playing guitar, and performing in clubs at age 15. He knew early on without a shadow of a doubt that he would make music his career. Trey fronted multiple bands and won numerous awards in North Carolina before moving to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2016. He formed The Trey Calloway Band and has been playing the eastern circuit and Nashville ever since. Trey recorded and released his debut Nashville album entitled Carolina Man and was able to work with some of his musical heroes including Brent Mason, Lonnie Wilson, and Buddy Hyatt on the Mike Rodgers produced album. Trey wrote all 12 songs on the album, including “Daddy From Day One” inspired by the birth of his son Cash. Trey was nominated as the Carolina Country Music Awards (CCMA) Male Artist of the Year in 2018, and one of the songs from Carolina Man, “Home is Where the Heart Is,” won the CCMA Song of the Year as well as Gospel Song of the Year. Dustin Craig and Raihanna Estrada S03EP12
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show, we are joined by singer/songwriter, Dustin Craig and independant country artist and songwriter, Raihanna Estrada!DUSTIN CRAIGBorn into a musical family where music was embedded in the family as much as Church on Sundays, Dustin Craig was quite simply born to be a star. There’s literally nothing else he could do to prepare him for the path he’s on as an engaging entertainer with the kind depth and wisdom that contradicts his youthfulness. Songs like “Bring On Tomorrow” and “Sunday Morning Prayers” showcase his ability as a wordsmith. While after one listen to his powerful vocals on those two and others like “What Would Wyatt Do”, “Her Heart Is A Rodeo”, and “Never Surrender”, it’s easy to get lost in the lyrically driven story songs. In addition to writing powerful music, Dustin has earned the kind of accolades many rising stars would kill to have. He’s won battles of the bands, he’s appeared on Nashville morning news programs, and he’s able to tour throughout the year, often packing the venues he plays like he was already a star with a handful of mainstream #1 hits and Platinum albums. His songs have aired on the GAC TV broadcasts of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo from Vegas and appear on the recently released movie soundtrack for “Cowgirls ‘n Angels Dakota’s Summer”.Dustin Craig is an energetic entertainer born from the New School where stage presence isn’t just standing and singing - his interaction and living in the moment with the audience comes across in every song he sings, be it his sturdy original material or choice covers. Performances are raw, real and bring to mind entertainers like Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean and many more. While out on touring around the rodeo circuit, Dustin crafted an EP of songs specifically for these folks, and this is where you can find “Sunday Morning Prayers” & “Her Heart Is A Rodeo”, mixed in with uptempo songs “Every Day is A Rodeo” and “The Ride.” It is in these songs where Dustin Craig showcases how well-rounded of a songwriter and artist he is. He’s able to play the uptempo rockers as well as the heartfelt, emotional ballads with the ease of a Townes Van Zandt, Keith Urban and yet another of his influences – Bob Dylan. He’s a modern day musical poet ready to share his master class, and if all music had the raw honesty of the music from Dustin Craig, the world would be a better place for it.RAIHANNA ESTRADARaihanna Estrada is a country artist-songwriter from California now living in Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in a motor home on a ranch in Lake Berryessa in Napa County and fell in love with 90’s country radio. Later she moved back to Fremont in the San Francisco Bay Area and continued songwriting/singing. In 2009 she moved to Los Angeles living right off of Hollywood Boulevard. That move changed her life. She met musicians from all over the world and put a band together playing her first show on the Sunset Strip. She met her husband Eric Bickerstaffe, a Canadian guitarist from Calgary. You can find the couple always writing new music, recording and planning their next travels in the world. A year after being married, they took that dream and moved to Nashville. Her latest single release “June” is an upbeat-love letter to summer wishing for those days to come back and stick around forever. She hopes that fans will dance along to this summer tune going back to their own unforgettable magic moments that are painted in their minds. The music video for June was featured on CMT.com. Stay tuned on her socials for the lyric and music videos and new music releases!
