Something I am seeing more and more often in clinic and around the community both local and online is signs of Orthorexia.  This is something I have personally struggled with in the past and something I feel needs to be brought to the forefront.  What is Orthorexia? In a nutshell, it is fixation and obsession with proper eating for better health.  Unlike Anorexia, it is more of an obsession about the quality of food you are putting into your body than the quantity. In this podcast episode I chat with Ivanna Ruger, a clinical nutritionist and personal trainer with a degree in complementary medicine who works in the field of Nutrigenomics. In the past I was labelled with Anxiety and Panic Disorder as a child and out of all the things that I have learnt to support this, the BREATH is the most powerful.  It is free, we all have access to it and at any point in time, anywhere. A lot of conversations I have with women are the lack of support received from their partners and how they feel they are left to do it all.  They also don’t make sense of how their partners parent, don’t agree with it, call them ignorant or too rough – whatever it may be.  From my own personal experience I have come to learn men parent differently for a reason.  In today’s modern world I see so many men struggling to find the right way to parent anymore - so they shut off completely.  This can lead to poor relationships and disconnection in our homes.  Ladies, they are males, not females and they connect on a completely differently level that so many of us can’t comprehend.
