Wherefore He Is Able
Nov 23 2023
Wherefore He Is Able
The reason God is able is because He is strong. Ability is only as good as how able one is. God is able to do anything because there is nothing too hard for God. Jesus is able… …to heal the sick. The four Gospels are full of what Jesus did. He came into the world as the great physician and He is still doing. There was a certain blind man who lay beside a road. Bartimaeus was blind and asked Jesus to have mercy on him. He called out to his Lord Jesus and asked Him to heal him of his blindness. A paralytic had a few friends who heard Jesus was in town. They hauled him to the house, tore the roof off, and lowered him down to Jesus. Jesus saved him and his friends and then healed him. …to raise the dead. It’s one thing to be sick but it’s another if you’re dead. Jesus was headed to Jarious’s daughter and got caught up with a woman who needed to be healed of her blood. The daughter died yet that didn’t stop Jesus. He walked in and told her to live again. A widow woman who just lost her son. Jesus saw them carrying his coffin. He laid His hand on it and told the son to live again. Jesus had a friend, Lazarus. Jesus waited until he had died and lay there for three days until Jesus went to see him. Jesus is life and therefore He is in control of it. He told His friend to come forward and he walked out of his tomb. There is a day coming for all of us who die before Jesus’ return. Jesus will raise His children from the dead to be forever with Him. …forgive of sins. A woman was caught in the very act of adultery. He knelt down and wrote on the ground, condemning those around them. He then saved her of her sins. Another woman was at a well and she was living in fornication. Her reputation was horrible so she went in the heat of the day to avoid others that knew her. Jesus met her and had a conversation with her and then saved her. Murders, child molesters, pedophiles, etc. All of these things we think are the worst sins but we that are saved were just as bad as those before we were saved. A father had a son who was possessed by multiple demons. The father took his son to Jesus’ disciples and they couldn’t do it. The father then took him to Jesus. Jesus simply cast the demons out. Legend was another that was possessed by many demons. Jesus came over to the island where he was and the demons knew and recognized Jesus coming. Jesus simply told them to leave him and they did. …to save to the uttermost. The greatest miracle that has ever happened is the salvation of a soul. Not only does Jesus save the soul, He saves them so they can never be unsaved. Jesus saved a bunch of smelly fishermen to preach and establish the church. Jesus even saved a thief while they were dying on the cross. There are no limits to His salvation. Jesus calls out to whosoever, anyone to be saved. John 21:25, there are so many things that Jesus has done that it could never be exhausted.
The Revelation Of Salvation

The Revelation Of Salvation
There are many out there today that have never heard God speak yet they claim they know Him. God must invite you to be one of His children. God does not want anyone to perish in the pits of Hell. However, unless one accepts Him they will be forever in Hell at the time of their death. It doesn’t matter if you are 100 years old, once you become humble before God then you are willing to accept Him. There isn’t a substitute for Jesus Christ. The gospel of Christ comes to the ignorant and unlearned. This is because the wise and prudent people can’t see that they need Christ. Did you know that God doesn’t need you? If you think that God needs you in order to fulfill something or do something, you’re badly mistaken. The glory in Christ is not what you know, it’s who you know. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one, and equal. God is in control of all things. No one knows God but Christ, yet if Christ has revealed Himself to you then you through Christ know God. Many churches do the invitations asking you to just raise your hand, fill out a card, be baptized, repeat a prayer, etc. These things are not of God unless God is inviting. We can’t make a decision to follow something that we do not know. John 6:44; no one can go to God (be saved) unless God is drawing them, inviting them. Titus 2:11; the Word of God is going out to everyone and if one becomes humble and as a child then God will invite. If you’re lost you can go through all of the motions of a saved person, emotions, cry, pray, apologize, volunteer your time, never lie, give to the poor, etc., and still go to Hell. God must invite and you must accept His invitation. God says to those who are over burdened by what’s next after death, those who worry about dying to come to Him. Those who are under conviction are tormented because they know they will die without Christ.
God Will Be Glorified

God Will Be Glorified
God will be glorified in one way or another. God is worthy of everything that we can give Him. A Christian should be giving Him glory all the time. If the only thing you can say is thanks for your salvation then you need to reevaluate your walk with God. He is worthy of everything we can give Him praise for. He never promised us another day. Each day we wake, we should be praising Him. Each minute of the day that we are alive we should be praising God. Our problem is that we are too high-minded, and proud. In this reading, we see that Herod left God out of it. Matthew 5:6; let the world know what God has done for you. This lifts God’s name up through praises. Do you want to see the lost come into the church? Do you want to see the church full? Start praising God no matter what and give Him all the glory He deserves. Something that we’ve heard over and over again and that’s that Jesus is coming back. This is a promise that He has given and He’s never broken a promise. No one knows when that time will be. If we knew a time then how much more serious would we be then? Since we don’t know the time, we should be much more serious about getting our lost people to Jesus. Each one of us will be judged on what we did and did not do. During this time, we should be serious about getting the lost in and if we don’t we will answer for being lazy on God. John 14:3; all you’ve got to do is pray, and ask God in Jesus' name. Have you sacrificed your time to talk to God today? 1 Chronicles 6:20; the price that was paid for our souls should make us want to give God all of the praise that we can give, freely.
A Heart For The Children

A Heart For The Children
God has a heart for the children. Before the age of accountability, God takes care of them. One soul is not more important than the other. In this reading, we see that there was a great multitude of people who brought their children to Jesus. There is no mention of needing healing, just to be prayed for. We as adults seem to forget that God loves children. When a child is born into this world God loves them just as much as another child that is born. Those who are born and brought up in a church setting are blessed. Schools are full of children there needs to be teachers that need to tell them that God loves them. The last message was about how we as adults should have a heart as a child. Humble, caring, loving, and dependent upon God. But, there is something about children that we shouldn’t miss. There is a thought that children have more time, yet we also think that they are just children and they do not know. We see in this reading that Jesus told His disciples to leave the children alone and allow them to come. Jesus told them to let them come to Him. It matters to Christ where the children are. Matthew 18:3-5; We have a responsibility as adults to receive children. Don’t discount the truth that when they come to an adult they are seeing Christ because that’s all they know. We should not push them away but love them. Matthew 18:6; We need to make certain we do not offend them. God isn’t negotiating this topic. Offenses are going to happen but to a child, it’s a very bad thing to do. Cussing, pornography, drinking, and the sins of the devil are the opposite of what God says is offensive to the children. God is the only one that can declare judgment. We should be shining the beacon of Christ into their world at all times. Think of this, if you only took a child to church once a month is that not neglecting the child? If you only fed a child only once a month they would lock you up. There is no difference between feeding them Christ and feeding them food. Matthew 18:10; Don’t despise the children. Do not put the children down but lift them up. A parent has a responsibility to do what God tells them to do.
