God’s Got a Way
There is a world that will tell you that you can’t be together due to sickness. However, the fellowship of the brethren is needed because we share in those things that are troubling. We attend church not because we have to be but because we want to be. There are many different stories in the bible that people were in bondage yet God always made a way of escape. He told men to go and to do something that many, including the one that God told, would think was crazy. God had them and led them to do what He wanted them to do. No matter what came against them, God was for them. In our time it’s just the same. How many times does God tell you to do something and you think it’s crazy? Then once you come to your senses and just do what He told you to do, He’ll lead, help, and protect you from the enemy. There is too much that a person of God has to do to just lay it down. God will always go before you to clear the path. Have faith and follow God. Once the help comes the peace will follow and it’ll be a peace that surpasses all understandings. When you think there is no hope at all, just give it to God. Once you turn it over to Him the peace will come. In the scripture, it clearly states not to worry about the evildoers. Don’t worry about anything, let God. We know that the world will become more and more wicked as it turns. Don’t worry about the wicked and turn your face upon the Lord for your peace during this time. The world says that God can’t be preached and His followers need to hush up. But God has other plans. He can’t be shut up. His word will continue to go out no matter if the church doors are closed or His followers are jailed into prisons. Daniel was told to stop praying to God. He didn’t stop, in-fact he prayed more and more loudly. They threw him in prison yet that still didn’t stop him. They then thought they’d just kill him so they threw him into a den of lions. The lion's mouths were just by God and Daniel lived to preach God’s word. No one can snuff out God’s word. Look at the world in which we live. Everyone is scared to death of just about anything yet we are not afraid of God. The God of everything controls everything that created everything. We ought to have a fear of God. Fear not of being scared but fear of reverence of knowing that He controls our very breath.

A Little More FaithGet in the House and Stay in the House
There is a lot of people in the world that think that God will excuse their sin at death and He’ll let them into Heaven. God has made a way. In the Old Testaments, we see that God gave them a way in how to deal with their sins. In the New Testaments, we also see that God provided a way in how to deal with our sins.   A lamb was to be set aside and it was to be without blemish. This lamb, if it passed as being pure would be sacrificed. The blood would be placed around the door and death would pass over them. This was the only way to protect the people within the house. No other way would protect the people from certain death.   It’s very concerning that the people that choose to not come back to church stay away. The concern is their salvation and whether or not they’ve ever been saved. The word of God is very clear that we should NOT forsake worshipping together. God’s word doesn’t change. One might say, what about my health? No one knows their health but God and He should still be worshipped.   God didn’t raise one up and save them for them to be a failure. Success is being Born Again. In Exodus, we see that the people were let free and they never went back to captivity unless they chose to. Exodus 12   There is but only one sacrifice to remove all sins from the world and that is believing in Jesus Christ unto salvation. Just as the lamb sacrifice protected the people within the house, Jesus' blood protects all of those that are saved under His house. No other animal but a lamb could be used to protect them that day. Just as then, Jesus Christ took the place of that lamb and He is the only way to be saved.

Where Are You Casting Your Eyes?
Abram & Lot were both rich men yet their eyes looked in different directions. They both were blessed with things in their life that their lives together became a battle. They made a decision that they would separate and go in opposite directions of each other. Abram didn’t care in which direction he went yet Lot saw the good of the land of Sodom so he set out towards it. Abram and his wife were driven by his love of God, this is why he didn’t care in which direction he went cause he knew God would provide. Lot felt that it would be easy living by heading towards Sodom. We just like Abram and Lot we make decisions in our lives based upon our current situation. It’s easier to stay at home than go to church. The next thing you know you’ve quit church altogether. Since the pandemic, we’ve not seen some people come back to church because it’s easier to sit at home. Abram bargained with God, prayed with God to spare the people of Sodom. God was going to destroy this city completely but Abram prayed for God to have pity on some. God heard his prayer and spared Lot’s family by leading them out with angels. Lot made his choice to live in this sin yet God loved him so much that he sent angels in to let him live. Sin has a price, it has a hefty price. Lot went to his family and begged them to leave with him because God was going to destroy the city. They laughed and mocked him. Lot and his wife left the city and just as soon as they left God destroyed the city yet his wife didn’t obey God and looked back. She immediately became a pillar of salt, she was disobedient. In the beginning, we see that Abram and Lot had anything and everything. We then see Lot lose it all including his family, all of it. Lot knew God and saw God's work prior to losing it all yet he chose sin over God. Be careful in who you put your trust in. Which way have you cast your eyes? Are you looking to God for your direction or have you looked into the world? If you’ve drawn yourself into your own lusts then it’s sin and sin brings death.

Anchor of the Soul
A lot of people in this world place their hope in something else besides the Lord. There are all kinds of anchors that a boat could use. Just as a basket is, is simply something that holds things. You can put just about anything you want in a basket. In life, we place things in our life's basket and most of them are worthless things. They mean something to us physically but Spiritually they amount to nothing. We can place our jobs in our baskets. Our jobs and education amount to nothing at some point. Our jobs are temporary. Education is also temporary. You’ve got to place something in your basket that will keep you. God is only looking for one thing in your basket. At the time of death, God will look through your basket to see what you’ve gathered in life. Being rich, having health is not the things that should be placed in the basket. The world is not getting worse yet it’s been the same since sin came into the world. Death is something that has always been here and it’s here because of sin. When death finds you, you better make sure that there is one thing in your basket. Jesus Christ should be in your basket. Do you have Him in your basket? Is He your anchor? Death doesn’t care about your age, social status, financial status, or even your love for others. Some live by feelings yet our feelings often lie to us. We should only live by faith and faith in Jesus Christ. If our lives are on the ocean of life and are not anchored into something solid then we will be thrown from one end to the other. We often look at trying to anchor into something in this life. We anchor into our money, friends, alcohol, drugs, and things. These things are not solid and the anchor will never be stable. Being anchored into Jesus Christ is a solid anchor and He will never let you go. Romans 8:24-25 Why does God love you? Because He doesn’t want you to perish in the flames of Hell. The wage of sin is death. This will never change. If you do not have Jesus in your basket then you are without hope. 1 Peter Is Jesus in your basket? You have two options in your life. You can either build your house (life) on the solid rock (Jesus Christ). When the storms of this world beat against your house it will stand strong because of its solid foundation. If you choose the second option and build your house on the sand, do it your way, find your own path, then your house will perish. You built your house on a foundation that’s not solid and when the storms come it will wash the foundation out from under your house.

God’s Foolishness is Wiser than Any ManGod Delivers Out of Bondage
Egypt has always been a representative of sin. Egypt, when spoken about, had great bondage on its people just as sin has on one's life. Moses was sent as a deliverer of a people out of this “sin”. When God delivers it sometimes isn’t the way we thought it would have been. However, God is all-knowing and He knows what’s best for us. God doesn’t always lead us out in the easiest way. In the scripture, we read that God lead them around the land of the Philistines. This wasn’t the easiest way out but God knew why they were to go this way. At times in our lives, we wonder why we have to go a certain way in our lives, and all while God knows why our paths go a certain way. God always has the plans for us. In verses 19 and 20 we read that when God delivered them out of Egypt they were not going to return. Just in our lives when we are Born Again, the bondage of that sin, we are never to return to that place ever again. God throws our sins as far as the east is from the west, never to know them again. We should always move forward and never look back. Moving forward knowing the scripture we know the people often looked back and wished they were back in Egypt. This is just like we are at times that when God removes sin from our lives we want to go back to that sin and pick it back up again. In verses 21 and 22 we see the pillar of fire and cloud. The only time we know of the pillar of fire changing course is when the Egyptian army came from behind them to try to destroy them. God moved it to protect them from the armies. At this point, God never pushes but leads you. This cloud for them had to be huge and of great size for the thousands of people to all be able to see them. For 40 years the large pillar of cloud leads them during the day. By night a pillar of fire just as large as the cloud at day. These people got to see these miraculous things that lead them from sin. In our lives, we have the one that baptized us with fire. The Word of God is like the cloud that leads us at all times.

I Beseech You Brethren
We should be encouraging others in Christ to get closer to God. We need to be better than we’ve ever been. There is room for ME to get closer to God. We need to get up off of our seats Spiritually and admit that we should be getting better at getting closer to God. How many times do we pray for workers and yet we are unwilling to work? Should we not be the ones to go out and tell others the good news of the Savior? Commit yourselves to taking a step towards Christ. We often allow ourselves to squirm away from doing what we ought to be doing for God. Be encouraged that God hasn’t given up on us. Does anybody care that the doors are open on the church house? Does anybody care that we have church services on Sunday nights and Wednesdays? If you are a church member then you’ve made a covenant between the members and more importantly between God and yourself that you would fail not to assemble yourself. God hasn’t broken His covenant between you and Him and He continues to bless you no matter what. When you stand before the judge of glory what are you going to say? If your priorities are all about yourself, what are you going to say to Him when He asks you why? The only thing that you can present to God is the inner man, the soul that He purchased at the time of salvation. When He purchased the soul then He owns you and therefore your reasonable service is to yield yourself to your owner, God. There are things that we could be doing yet we don’t. We don’t do them because we don’t want to. If you’ve got a problem with doing something for Him, take it up with Him and not the pastor.  Have you adjusted your life to the world? God, Himself has a completely different view of the world. Is there anything in your life that you feel you have to do every day? You might say you must go to work. You’ll set your alarms and make sure that you’re there and ready to go each day for your employer. Yet, when it comes to the worship of God in His church house you’ll find any excuse to stay away from it. Page 375 in our hymnals, “Have Thine Own Way, Lord”. “Mold me and make me, after Thy will, while I am waiting, Yielded and still.” In the garden when Christ prayed He yielded to His father and because the clay for God to do what he wanted. God has a will or a purpose for your life and He wants to take you and mold you into something that Christ get’s the glory. “Search me and try me, Master today! Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now, as in Thy presence humbly I bow.” Forgiveness for our sins. “Wounded and weary, help me I pray! Power, all power, surely is Thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.” Healing during our very time of need. “Hold over my being absolute sway! Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me.” What sways you today? Whatever wind the enemy blows through over our ship it often blows us off course. We should be asking God to have control over our lives so that the enemy can’t touch us.

P. R. A. Y.
1 Thes 5:17; Ephes 6:18; There is a need for constant prayer. As good Christian people we often check this off thinking we’ve got it and understand it. However, how many times do we go without praying? We should be constantly in prayer with God. A conversation between the Christian and God. We ought to want to hear from God. Romans 12:12, God doesn’t want a one-way conversation and He doesn’t want a quick session of 5 minutes. Books about prayer, there are hundreds and thousands of them out there. However, Jesus told us how to pray and what to pray. We don’t need these extra prayers especially if they involve self and overlook Christ. James 5 The real test is not about prayer but if we do it and do it correctly. We will never be where we need to be until we fully humble ourselves to prayer. There is public prayer and private prayer. Public prayer is the typical congregational prayer where we pray together for each other’s prayers. We do a lot of that and one can’t have too much of pray. Praise Matthew 6:9-10 The first thing to do in your prayer is to praise Him. One has to understand who it is that you’re praying to. A lot of times we go at praying with it focused on ourselves. We should start our prayer by praising God. Repentance Matthew 6:12 If you’re not willing to forgive your neighbor then how do you expect God to forgive you? Giving mercy where mercy isn’t deserved is one of the hardest things for a human to do. If there is going to be fellowship between you and God then you’ll need to ask for forgiveness. There should be a cry from the soul when sin occurs and a wanting to rid oneself of it. Ask Matthew 6:13 One doesn’t need to ask until they’ve honored God and repented of their sins. When we go into prayer we go to Him because He’s the only one that can do them. If someone else could do them we would certainly ask that person. Yield The proud will not have their prayers answered. This is because they don’t pray to God but for others to hear them. Effectual prayer is between you and God. It’s a two-way communication where He speaks to us and we are speaking to Him. There are things He wants us to do too. We should be saying yes to God and no to everything else. When He says for us to do something we should just do it. Prayer is not just about what you want but what He wants too.

Made Under the Law
From the womb, Jesus was made under the law. Joseph and Mary knew what they were expected to do and that was to obey God. No one told them what to do, they made a choice to simply obey God. They could have made up any excuse to do something else but they followed God. We all have a choice to make to live right or not. Mary by just giving birth to a male child was considered to be unclean and she was to be separated for 7 days. This was the purification process for the new mother. According to the law, they couldn’t circumcise the male until 8 days and also couldn’t name them. For a female child, it was 14 days after birth. Luke 1:59-60 also shows us that on the 8th day John was named and also circumcised under the law. There are two stages of a woman’s purification after childbirth. The first stage is the 7 days for a male, 14 for a female. Afterward another 33 days until they were able to the priest for sacrifice, 66 for a female. At six weeks old Simeon the priest saw Jesus as Mary and Joseph brought Him in for sacrifice. They also brought 2 turtle doves for sacrifice. The dove or pigeon was for the poor and the rich should bring a lamb. The 2 doves were for sin and for thanks. The price is the same for sin offering yet for thanks it would be different for the rich or poor. Now Jesus was sinless but it wasn’t for Jesus but that Mary and Joseph followed the law. Galatians 4:4-5; Galatians 3:23-25 Jesus Christ was made under the law to redeem those that are also born under the law. The law is that we are to die because it’s the law of sin. Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice because He never sinned and He was perfectly kept and therefore was the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world.
