When you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, sex is often the last thing on your mind. There are many different factors that may affect your sex life. Some of these factors include the type of cancer you have, what type of treatment you are receiving, how long you are going through treatment, and whether or not you have any side effects. You could be feeling so fatigued that you can’t even think about sex. In this candid episode with my guest Juni Bucher, we're discussing this taboo subject and learn how to rediscover your sexual self as a cancer survivor.Juni is a breast cancer survivor. Her first hand experience handling her new normal caused her to see things differently. Eventually it led her to completely change her life and career after her diagnosis. After a whirlwind of unfortunate events collided with Carrie Brophy, she found herself in a new world and the feeling of having little control over what her life was. Living in constant anxiety about what tomorrow would bring.Carrie, a mom of six, a wife, a pediatric nurse and most recently a melanoma survivor. In 2020 she was in an unfamiliar place, thrust to look inside herself and face her new reality. This is a must listen episode if you are trying to figure out this new world of cancer, to keep your head above water and deal with the fear and anxiety that comes with all of it.She talks about being in the “eye of the storm”…which is a perfect metaphor for when things are momentarily calm but there is a lot going on that needs to be dealt with.
