EP:39 St. Patrick's Battalion: America's First Military Intersectionality
Send us a Text Message.VOC Veterans Of Color takes a historical dive into a bunch of warriors who wanted a better life for themselves and others. American military intersectionality goes back to the early 1800s with the formation of the St Patrick's Battalion by many US military men who were poor, Irish, and other European immigrants, Catholics, escaped slaves, freed, and African Americans. They came together with their differences to promote intersectionality in the areas of race, class, and nationality. * This is a veteran fact checked audio essay with the sources below.LinksUS National Park Service's Recognition of St Patrick's Battalionhttps://www.nps.gov/places/the-san-patricio-brigade.htm The St Patrick's Battalion Narrative https://aaregistry.org/story/recognizing-the-saint-patricks-battalion/What is intersectionality, and what does it have to do with me? | YW Boston https://www.ywboston.org/2017/03/what-is-intersectionality-and-what-does-it-have-to-do-with-me/Intersectionality Explainedhttps://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2019/5/20/18542843/intersectionality-conservatism-law-race-gender-discriminationIntersectionality and the individual ecomaphttps://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=ecomap+and+intersectionality+hartman&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart#d=gs_qabs&t=1677726813510&u=%23p%3DVQFIQumHWhAJFollow Mike on his LinkedIn pageFollow Mike on Instagram @mikekimveteranSearch for Mike on Facebook @MikeKimVeteranSearch for Mike at #mikekimveteran or Google him at "Mike Kim Veteran"Email Mike at agathoskim@gmail.comTune into our CHW Streaming Radio and the full lineup at cominghomewell.comDownload on Apple Play and Google PlayOnline-Therapy.com ~ Life Changing Therapy Click here for a 20% discount on your first month.Thank you for listening!
