A Dormant Genius Inside of Us
Julia Bright, the host of this new podcast is asking you the question: Do you believe you have a genius inside of you? Or do you think becoming a genius is predetermined and nothing you can do about it?  Well, we all have much more potential within us than what our parents and schooling can get out of us. The problem is that they don't have the patience to let us develop our internal drive and interests, they tell us what to learn when and how, and humans naturally don't learn that way.Homo Sapiens means 'the human who knows, but we are pretty far from becoming wise in general. For that we need to understand ourselves from within, the world, find credible information through credible people, surround ourselves with people who will help us grow, stimulate our thinking. Our social and communicational cushion surrounds us all our lives, we need to take full advantage of it. But we need to know how to build the foundation. First things first! We don't want to slide back and forth in life to progress and regress because we made mistakes we could have avoided in the process.Julia will provide you with a map, a framework, a blueprint for this life-time work of ours. She will tell us what we need to take care first, without delay, day by day, diligently, so we can set goals and ultimately fulfill our purpose and live as long as we can.No wonder Let Your Genius Emerge is under the umbrella of the Humanly Genius Project. We hope you will enjoy the podcast and the transformation it offers in yourself, in your life.
Our Needs As Maslow Saw Them

Our Needs As Maslow Saw Them
In this episode Julia Bright introduces the six pillars of the Humanly Genius Project, which are overlapping and by integrating the knowledge they give us, we can become strong, fulfilled self-assured people. These pillars are first and foremost all forms of Human Rights, then assertive and non-violent communication, interdisciplinary scientific approach, Big History Project, levels of needs and motivation, and Positive psychology. They will create the foundation for an all encompassing wisdom. In this episode we pay tribute to Abraham Harold Maslow who provided not one but two pillars to our project. His creative mind will not just enrich our lives but will give us the wisdom to decide what is necessary and what is not in life.Abraham Maslow’s one creative idea is the hierarchy of needs and motivation and the other is his lifetime work in a subfield he called Humanistic psychology that was later on the precursor of positive psychology. You will hear about his life, about his struggles in life as well as his work achievements. He wasn't just a psychologist, he was a real person too! Then Julia will give you details about the hierarchy of needs, all the stages and what they all mean for our motivation. It is so important to be aware of these needs to be able to consciously transfer our lives when changes are inevitable, like when we go to university, get a new job, we become spouses, parents, our schedule and lifestyle changes or turns upside down.We can also detect it easier when we or others need help when anxiety or depression sets in. Sometimes we sacrifice our needs to get something that we desire. Other times we do that so we can give more to other people. Neither is healthy. Needs are such that are necessary to be taken care of otherwise we will not be complete. This is why Maslow's theory is so far reaching and practical in our everyday lives! The podcast is recommended to non-native English speakers as well, as it is clearly spoken and easy to follow.
Build Your Own Tower of Needs

Build Your Own Tower of Needs
In this episode Julia first wants to make sure we don't mix up our term of desires with needs and necessities, because it surely happens in life. Material stuff does not give lasting satisfaction, the thrill will fade quickly and we want more stuff soon. But experiences have different effects on us. She will introduce a new way of thinking about our needs, that will help us think about our lives differently later on. Our social circle and communication cushioning  is a park around the Tower of our Needs we will build in our imagination. She will guide you through all the floors and what they include, how they expand your life and your possibilities. They are the reasons we live, and we get up each morning. We are also thinking creatures who can get motivated when we know reasons. It boosts internal drive and cooperation when employees, students, even children know the reasons of decisions and actions! We are parts of our communities and we need that to stay healthy.  But we are the only species on earth that can cooperate in the millions without knowing each other and we do that through our cultural stories. With that we are given stereotypes that are cultural shortcuts and can be very dangerous. On top of that Julia will talk about the issues between generations that can be regarded as prejudice, ageism; judging just by the year someone was born in. It is dividing and hurting our more important issues and causes! Racism, political injustice, cultural biases, these are all the issues we need to step up against in unison. We hope it makes you think deeper about these issues.
