We interview the men who finally solved Russia’s greatest mystery, the Dyatlov Pass Incident. In January 1959 a group of 10 students went on an ill-fated expedition in western Siberia’s Ural Mountains. Nine members of the group were found dead several days later, some with horrific injuries. Their tragic deaths inspired countless conspiracy theories including Soviet weapons testing, yetis, and extraterrestrials - however scientists may have finally uncovered the truth. We interview Dr. Alexander Puzrin and Dr. Johan Gaume over a bottle of wine about their evidence that a slab avalanche was responsible for the bizarre deaths of the Dyatlov Pass group. Their research has been published in top tier scientific journals and their story published in National Geographic, the New York Times, the Smithsonian Magazine, and Vice among other news outlets. In this candid and genuine interview we discuss how the scientists went from rivals to close friends and how two unassuming scientists ended up solving this legendary mystery. Full of twists and turns we discuss the highs and lows of their research and sudden notoriety. Paired with this interview is a bottle of Famille Perrin's Chateauneuf-du-Pape Les Sinards Blanc 2020.
