Episode 24 - Voice Act Your Age!
Show Notes:Welcome back for Episode 24!  Today, I want to share with you my interview with co-creator Chris Burnside and voice talent Stephen Gogol, and Jordan Lopez from Dayton Writer’s Movement’s The Hidden People audio drama. I have to be honest that this interview almost brought me to tears because there is nothing more fun than sitting around with a bunch of hilarious, creative people. This interview is, as always, included in its entirety and we let the clock run on entertainment. It is a long one and I won’t fault anyone for taking this one in chunks, but if you need to smile, this is the one. Stick around after the interview for some Dad Jokes of the Week. If your podcast player can see chapters, I’ll put some markers in so that you can navigate around the longer episode. Enjoy! For next week, I am going to talk a little about self-love, no not that kind, and gratitude. Two things that can help us reframe out thoughts and give us a mood boost that may be the kick in the pants we need to get finding our new destiny! If you have some thoughts about this, email, tweet, or come to the website at www.findingweird.com and click on the microphone in the bottom right corner to leave me a voicemail message! I may even feature your audio in the next episode!Support Links:National Suicide Lifeline 1-800-273-8255National Crisis Text Line 741-741National Alliance on Mental Illness - Support GroupsFinding Weird Podcast Links:www.findingweird.comMy Referral Link for Support and a Free $20 Amazon Gift Card!Intro and Outro Music: Snap Happy by Shane Ivers: https://www.silvermansound.comSupport the show

Episode 22 - Do Be a Drag... Queen!
Show Notes:Welcome back for Episode 22!  Today, I want to share my interview with Lala Luzious, The Snack of the Twin Cities, local drag performer, host of the Snack Size podcast, journalist for the Twin Cities Gay Scene magazine, makeup artist, and show host of “Power” at the Black Hart of Saint Paul. She is also releasing her own book of poetry, "A Loitering Heart" in February and will be featured in a new web series, “It’s Not You” coming out this year. I’ll be honest, I am exhausted from just thinking about all the work she does on a weekly basis. A wonderful guest with an even more wonderful soul and work ethic who champions the idea that stepping outside of ourselves once in a while is a Wonderfully Weird Way to Be.Next week, we will be sitting down with social psychologist, entrepreneur, author, podcast host, speaker, teacher, and frequent guest panelist Dr. Kevin Payne to talk about how he jumps out of a perfectly functional airplane to take control of his body back from his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. We discuss how to create and nurture a life worth living and I think he may have convinced me to jump.Lala's Links:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lalaluzious/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lalaluziousTwitter: https://www.facebook.com/lalaluzious"Snack Size: The Podcast": www.snacksizepodcast.comPreorder for her book "A Loitering Heart":  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q2FYWDG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_YARSGS3X6CY58S4V81Y8Support Links:National Suicide Lifeline 1-800-273-8255National Crisis Text Line 741-741National Alliance on Mental Illness - Support GroupsFinding Weird Podcast Links:https://linktr.ee/findingweirdpodcastMy Referral Link for Support and a Free $20 Amazon Gift Card!Intro and Outro Music: Snap Happy by Shane Ivers: https://www.silvermansound.comSupport the show

Episode 17 - Me and YouTube
Show Notes:Welcome back for Episode 17!  Today, we are going to be talking about starting your own YouTube channel as I sit down with Nathan Lockhart of the LockisLive Youtube channel and Expanded Thoughts Podcast.  As I mentioned in last week’s teaser, he is literally half of my age, but has been working with YouTube for the last 7 years! He is a well of online media knowledge and a very impressive content creator. I’d say take a drink every time I mention his follower numbers, but I want you to be able to remember today and stay safe.Next week, we will be sitting down with author N.Daniel while we talk about his new book, Burn This City to the Ground. As he describes it, an “endearing platonic love story is the gooey center of a turbulent world set aflame. Through the laughter and the tears, Samantha and Daniel play off each other like a tragic comedy duo that's hell bent on finding humor within the most savage aspects of their everyday lives.” It chronicles the continued recovery from his own mental health journey in the backdrop of living in Minneapolis during the riots, and we talk about how online roleplaying games helped him, myself, and many others begin making connections again in recovery from trauma.Support the show! - Buy Me a Coffee!Support Links:National Suicide Lifeline 1-800-273-8255National Crisis Text Line 741-741National Alliance on Mental Illness - Support GroupsFinding Weird Podcast Links:https://linktr.ee/findingweirdpodcastMy Referral Link for Support and a Free $20 Amazon Gift Card!Intro and Outro Music: Snap Happy by Shane Ivers: https://www.silvermansound.comSupport the show
