Greg and Pat welcome Dr. Walter Johnson, who is the Winthrop Professor of History and Professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University.  Dr. Johnson's work focuses on the history of slavery, capitalism, white supremacy, Black resistance, and US imperialism.

Today we discuss " The Broken Heart of America: St. Louis and the Violent History of the United States (2020). The book analyzes the pervasive exploitation and radical resistance in America told through the turbulent history of St. Louis.
