How it all began. Mr. Khalsa will share with the audience the history of getting the first yogic based, natural healing residential treatment center in America accredited by the Joint Commission,the accrediting body for all drug and alcohol treatment centers in America back in 1978. This program was housed in Sikh Ashram in Tucson, Arizona. The program did not use any medications. They used all natural, yogic,holistic methods of treatment. Imagine that. Then Mr. Khalsa will describe his life journey working in a mental hospital for Criminally insane for 10 years. Then working as a program director of an 88 bed residential treatment program inside a State Prison. Next being the Bureau Chief of Mental Health for the New Mexico Department of Corrections. And lastly, he will share how he then developed his own Program: Total Health Recovery Program. This program represents his best effort in establishing the most effective treatment program in the world. It is a work in progress.
