*BONUS EPISODE* INTERVIEW: Patrick Horvath
Joining us for a bonus conversation is the creator behind the smash-hit IDW series Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, which tells the story of an anthropomorphic brown bear named Samantha Strong. Sam has built a cozy life and a thriving business in a community surrounded by friendly fellow animal folk, but she does have one small secret: she’s a serial killer. It is our pleasure to welcome Patrick Horvath onto The Oblivion Bar Podcast! This is small-town serial killer, an upstanding citizen, and adorable brown bear Samantha Strong’s cardinal rule. After all, there’s a sea of perfectly ripe potential victims in the big city just beyond the forest, and when you’ve worked as hard as Sam to build a cozy life and a thriving business in a community surrounded by friendly fellow animal folk, warm décor, and the aroma of cedar trees and freshly baked apple pie…the last thing you want is to disturb the peace. So you can imagine her indignation when one of Woodbrook’s own meets a grisly, mysterious demise—and you wouldn’t blame her for doing anything it takes to hunt down her rival before the town self-destructs and Sheriff Patterson starts (literally) barking up the wrong tree."Follow us on InstagramFollow us on ThreadsFollow us on BlueSkyLike us on FacebookConsider supporting us over on PatreonDownload the BEST digital comic book reader OmnibusStock up on G Fuel (CODE: OBP)Thank you DreamKid for our Oblivion Bar musicThank you Kevin Zeigler for our Oblivion Bar art

MIDNIGHT REWIND: Princess Mononoke (1997)
"He isn't dead, San. He is here with us now, telling us, it's time for both of us to live."This week on the show, we are premiering a brand new segment called MIDNIGHT REWIND, wherein we celebrate our favorite anime classics! While we will discuss elements we love and even some that we don’t, Midnight Rewind is not meant to be so much a review of these films, but instead a celebration of some of our favorite Eastern animations and the impact they’ve had on us throughout our lives. For this episode, we discuss one of the greatest Studio Ghibli films of all time: 1997's Princess Mononoke. We dive deep into the history of the film, Hayao Miyazaki himself, and the lasting impact Studio Ghibli has had on the world with its beautiful creations."While protecting his village from rampaging boar-demon, a confident young warrior, Ashitaka, is stricken by a deadly curse. To save his life, he must journey to the forests of the West. Once there, he's embroiled in a fierce campaign that humans were waging on the forest. The ambitious Lady Eboshi and her loyal clan use their guns against the gods of the forest and a brave young woman, Princess Mononoke, who was raised by a wolf god. Ashitaka sees the good on both sides and tries to stem the flood of blood."Follow us on InstagramFollow us on ThreadsFollow us on BlueSkyLike us on FacebookConsider supporting us over on PatreonDownload the BEST digital comic book reader OmnibusStock up on G Fuel (CODE: OBP)Thank you DreamKid for our Oblivion Bar musicThank you Kevin Zeigler for our Oblivion Bar art
