This is why billions of dollars are spent every year on marketing and advertising to get you out of church and to the ball game, you know much more about your favorite players than you know about events in the Bible. You spend much more time tailgating and barbecuing than you do telling people how to get saved. When you got saved and became born again in your spirit, and sealed in your soul unto the day of redemption by the Holy Spirit, the main problem you had of where you will go when you die was forever solved. But what about all the other problems you can and will have in the days, months and years you will spend waiting to go Home and see the Lord? Paul says that all things will work out for God’s glory and for our good. Yep, the man who was executed by his enemies tells us that. Is it really true, do all things work together for good? Paul also says that “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”, is that right, can that be true. All things? Well, as it turns out, the answer to all these questions we’re asking this morning turns out to be yes, all things do work together for good to them that love God, and we can absolutely do all things through Christ which strengtheneth us. The problem, however, arises when we realize that God has one way of looking at it, and we have another. When the Lord called Peter into the ministry in John 21, (what an exciting day, right?!?), He prophesied Peter’s death by execution on a Roman cross as well. Wait…what? When Paul besought the Lord three times to remove his ‘thorn in the flesh’, God said no, my grace is enough for you, Paul, that’s all you need. Huh?? On today’s Sunday Service, I would like to bring you a message on how, yes, all things really do work together for good for the Christian, both in this life and in the life to come.

The Russian president responded: “I agree.” Yep, right on time.

On this episode of ‘Rightly Dividing’, the clowns in charge of entertaining the goats have come up with a new twist on an old Charismatic favorite, demon casting. If you had been alive in 1906, and wandered into the smelly, old church located on 312 Azusa Street in Los Angeles, you would have seen something that would have made your blood run cold if you were saved. I am talking, of course, about the infamous Azusa Street Revival. Newspapers of the time reported on the all-consuming chaos those meetings generated, an atmosphere of spiritual frenzy that was the exact opposite of the ‘fruits of the Spirit’ listed in Galatians 5:22-26. Deliverance ministries are found in Christian churches where they perform exorcisms live on stage. Yes those revivals were bathed in prayer as the planning committees sprang into action, but when the people arrived it was time to preach God's preserved word. True revival does not have primarily a unifying effect, it has a dividing effect. It first separates the people getting saved from the world and worldly pleasures, and then unifies them based on the truth of God's word. We here at NTEB have been blessed with revival for the past several years, a revival based on the preaching of God's word from the King James Bible. If God is ever going to be able to use you in His service, He’s going to have to break a few things in your life, the Lord is not looking for half-in, half-out part-timers. When Mary of Bethany stepped up to honor the Lord with the most valuable thing she had to give, her alabaster box, it had to be broken before it could bless Him. When Jesus was teaching His disciples in the Upper Room, and wanted to give them a graphic picture of what He was about to do on the cross, He broke the bread He was holding. You can forget all about that New Age ‘Jesus Revolution’ movie, the Jesus in the Bible is in the breaking business. The world right now is obsessed with Jesus, not the Jesus of the Bible, but an all-loving, never-judging counterfeit who bears little resemblance to the ‘smiting stone’ spoken of by the prophets. You don’t get saved by ‘accepting Jesus into your heart’, you get saved by becoming broken at the foot of the cross, and receiving by faith the payment made for you in God’s own blood. Same thing goes for serving the Lord, you have to be broken off and away from this ‘present evil world’ if He is going to be able to use you. When Jesus breaks you, He breaks you to remake you. This morning, I would like to bring you a message on being beautifully broken at the hands of Jesus Christ, and made ‘meet for the master’s use’ not only in this life, but in the coming kingdom as well.
