Our Editor's Take

The host of The Solopreneur Hustle podcast had a rough time starting her first business. As a first-time owner, Nia Lewis knew that she had the final say about every respect of the company. But what she didn't realize is that it didn't mean she also had to do everything by herself. Lewis thought being her own boss meant she would be in charge of marketing, accounting, tech, and so on. After two years of managing every daily task, and working all hours of the day, she couldn't take it anymore. The exhaustion and feeling overwhelmed were too much for her to handle.

That's when Lewis realized she needed to set her priorities straight. If she wanted to be a good CEO, she had to learn how to run the business. But being a leader also meant finding the best person for each role. That way, she could have the mental capacity to think about the bigger picture. When she stopped the hustle and focused on better time management, Lewis was able to expand her business like never before. As a result of her journey, Lewis came up with the idea for The Solopreneur Hustle.

The entrepreneur noticed that there wasn't a lot of help for women who want to start their own ventures. Particularly, she couldn't find any resources that seek to empower women of color. So she created one with this podcast.

The Solopreneur Hustle offers succinct 30-minute episodes with practical advice for solopreneurship. In both expert interviews and solo discussions, the host shares her knowledge. Her goal is to help women achieve time freedom and work less. Lewis talks about anything from automation and AI to telling a convincing brand story. She reveals her secrets for being a confident leader and overcoming imposter syndrome. Lewis is informative, honest, and supportive. Most of all, she and her guests can help the listeners feel they're not alone in their business journey. New episodes of this podcast drop on a periodic basis.
