“There’s nothing wrong with you. There’s a lot wrong with the world you live in.” –Chris Colfer According to the CDCR, “LGBTQIA+ is an inclusive term that includes people of all genders and sexualities, such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual, and allies. While each letter in LGBTQIA+ stands for a specific group of people, the term encompasses the entire spectrum of gender fluidity and sexual identities.” This group makes up millions of diverse individuals who makes up a significant portion of the population. Hosts Hannah and Ruhani provide in-depth information about the LGBTQIA+ community, about the rights that many states are attempting to limit, and about the importance of protecting those rights for the benefit of all. They give tips on how to support LGBTQIA and over insight to historical and famous figures of this community, many of whom had to stay in the closet to avoid persecution. Sharanya talks about the banning of books and encourages everyone to read books that focus on inclusivity. She reads her original poem in support of the trans community titled, She not He. At Express Yourself!™ and Be the Star You Are!® we support and embrace people of all genders, races, religions, and beliefs. Respect one another. If you are old enough to vote, vote for people who care about our privacy and personal well-being. We cannot have government officials dictating whom we can love. Be vigilant.
